Inflammatory breast cancer

Hi

I was diagnosed with this disease on 6/3/07 and have undergone firstly chemo (6 sessions 3 weeks apart) then a mastectomy and radiotherapy for 3 weeks 5 days a week. Now I am back at work and trying to get on with life knowing that my treatement has been very successful, I had lymph node involvement and had a full lymph node clearance, after the chemo, thankfully, no cancer could be detected.
I am still scared as have read stuff on the internet. how are you all doing.

Also my dad died suddenly the afternoon before my mastectomy and drove down from Yorkshire to Derbyshire on a Friday afternoon which was terrible traffic wise and missed him by half an hour.

The following morning when I got up at 6am to go to the hospital with the memories of the previous evening was on of the worst moments of my life only surpassed by seeing my mother dead at 58yrs old from a massive brain hemmoraege.

Sometimes life can be no fun.

You do seem to have had some difficult experiences to deal with all at once, and you have coped with the stresses. Maybe now you have the time to reflect on how bad it’s been the stress is coming out more. I had counselling which was good for me, maybe it would help you.
