I’ve just seen that there’s an information session on lymphoedema at the St Thomas Centre in Ardwick Green, Manchester, in November. I’ve just booked on it. Can’t remember the date though so I’ll have to go back and check. Think it’s the 2nd. Chemo brain! Hope to see some of you there
wish they had one thats local to me ,as i dont drive i find it hard to get to these things ,could do with more help with my lymphodemia as dont see the clinic very often due to sheer volume of numbers .arm is swollen today and feels very heavy despite doing my excersise .maybe we should all push for more help ,as its not always offered in all hospitals .lynn
Hi – will look for this on the BCC events list and try to get there. I worked at (and love) the St Thomas Centre, and look forward to meeting you, Maureen!
Oh, it’ll be grand that we’ll meet each other, Marilyn and Chukki
Aroma, where are you from? Sorry to hear your arm’s bad at the moment. Can you phone the clinic, be pushy and say you’ve GOT to see someone STRAIGHTAWAY???
I’m giving myself a few days off the exercises. Not sure they really help, to be honest, but after my rest I’ll continue with them and then make a further appointment to be measured and see if it’s up or down. We had the grandchildren overnight on Sat and it was difficult for me to lift the 18-month, what with bone mets in spine and ribs, and this gammy arm which has been pinned.
Thanks Ann, I rather suspect why I’ve not heard anything is because it is still early days for this - its not taking place until November, but I’ll phone anyway
