Hello everyone! I’m a newbie and this forum is amazing, so many lovely people and kind words of support and enouragement! my mum has breast cancer, second time round so this has been a great source of info for me and my family alhtough this is my first time posting!
Just looking for some advice really. It’s my mum’s big 60 this year and we had booked to take her to Vegas as this is somewhere she has always wanted to go. We hope she will make it! She had her surgery in 2006 and her therapy and now is on medication and regular three monthly reviews with clinic. Guess what hers was misdiagnosed which seems to be happening the more people you talk to about it! anyways I just wondered if anyone in same position has travelled abroad and what insurance you have got. We won’t travel without insurance (should have thought of taht before booking the holiday for her! but I so just wanted her to have something to look forward to!) Can anyone offer adivce, who you have insurance with etc? love and best wishes to you all…x
Hi - bit of a newbie myself - first time ever posting on a forum!
I was dx 4.9.07 had lumpectomy, SNB, rads and now on tamoxifen.
I decided to have a ‘finish of treatment’ trip to florida at beginning of March.
Found from recommendations on this site that Aberdeen Insurance were one of the best and I can confirm this.
They would not give me an annual multi trip cover because I was only 6 months from dx but apparently they will when you
are 12 months from dx.
They did cover me - £27 to include the breast cancer with a £500 excess - this is one of the cheaper quotes that I did get.
Some of the quotes were more expensive than the actual holiday!
Their details are Aberdeen Insurance Services North Lincs 01472 826 672.
Hope all goes well with your Mum and she gets the trip to Vegas… x
Thanks for that, Honey. I was dx in Feb, had surgery and start chemo shortly. Have had to abandon plans to go to France with friends this summer but would love a holiday next year to make up for it. I’ll keep a note of Aberdeen Ins details, it’s great to have a first-hand recommendation. Take care, Lyn x
Hi: In Good Housekeeping recently (last month?) there was a mention of insurance for chemo patients - thinks it was Pink Insurance. Will look when I get home - can’t find it on their website.
