Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Grade III

I just recently been diagnosed. My surgery will take another week as I will be travelling to another country. My problem is, my breast hurts so bad. I don’t know what to do.

HI there,

Welcome to the site, and I hope you find lots of support and comfort here.

has as it hurt from the start, is the pain part of your BC symptoms ? OR did you have a core biopsy…? I know that mine hurt a lot after the biopsy, which is quite an aggressive and invasive procedure. Infact I had more pain from the biopsy than the site of the lumpectomy.

Charys

I had my biopsy weeks ago. The pain from the biopsy already subsided. I just had this debilitating pain in the mass itself this morning when I woke up, like pinching every now and then. I called my doctor and told me to just take pain reliever which I did. But it still hurts a lot!

I’m in Dubai and will be travelling to US next week for the surgery, which kind of difficult to be having continuos service from my doctor here as I obviously opted for another medical facility for the treatment. But thank you for the advice. I took another pain reliever for now, if it doesn’t help still, I probably should go to the hospital. Thank you.

Thank Charys. This is a great place and hope to be back here to share my experience too, soon, for the better=)

Hi.
I had little bits of pain before but nothing substantial.
Once I had found the lump I felt pain both in my boob and in my underarm area. Maybe because I was more in tune with it as diddn’t know what it was at that point. After the biopsy my boob felt very different. It was sore but nothing compared to when I had the core biopsy, as they took 11samples that time.
People tended to say to me at the beginning that pain isn’t a symptom but it actually is.
Good luck

I had a vacuum biopsy - they found DCIS large high grade but MX next week plus lymph node biopsy. Scared stiff about it. But know that my DCIS is contained, and worst case would be radiotherapy after op…but back to biopsy - mine was painful, the anasthetic didn’t get to where it should have and I had a lot of internal bruising and still now, 6 weeks on I get sensations which are frightening. I am on a rollercoaster anyway, dreading the op, the anasthetic too, and waiting for full results. But don’t worry about your pains, they are normal and they do take time to heal, it’s all the nerves knitting back together and healing…it’s GOOD to feel. Good luck hun xxxxxxxxxx
