Anybody had IDC and not had chemotherapy?
I’m wondering if it’s nearly always given?

Hello Scooby - yes, me! I didn’t have any chemo, as wasn’t offered any. Very relieved not to have to face chemo, but would do it if it had been necessary - the professionals will advise.  Diagnosed last April IDC Stage 2, 7mm and 8mm tumours,O+,  had one WLE op, then needed another as not clear margins, and more DCIS found, total in all 30mm.  Had 15 rads and now on anastrozole.  It all depends on your pathology report: stage, sizes, Oestrogen, Proges, HR2 status etc, which is not known just from biopsies.  How far along this route are you?  Wishing you all the best - I’ve just had my first annual mammo and waiting to hear if I’m going to be a NEDdie (No Evidence of Disease). Hi Scooby, No it’s not a given with Invasive BC, Mine was and I didn’t have it, it will depend on various things like Size, grade, affected nodes , your oestrogen and HER2 results , and even your age Xx

Thanks for the info ladies. Well I’m waiting for final test results and they are deciding between Encysted Papillary Carcinoma or Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Nodes clear and clear margins. Was 33mm and grade 2 but I am 35 - today! Xxx
