Invasive Lobular and Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer...

Thanks again you lovely brave people , just wish i could sort my head out. Did you take any bras in hospital after op as my key worker said they will give me softies to take home so not sure ? Also what sort of night wear as going to go shopping before op ? And can you use dodrante after op as kerry (key worker) said some do some dont and some cant .

josie1,
had my op yesterday WLE AND SNB- came hope 8.30last night and thought i would give you info on op and bras etc-
op went ok and apart from being sick, i was fine, and being small breasted i came home braless and slept braless. Today i am sore but ok but need to wear a size larger bra with no wires and there was no suggestion of bra being provided at hospital. If you are a larger breasted lady i guess you will need a bra to come home in, and as for pyjamas-i wore hospital gown yesterday but if you are staying overnight i suggest front opening top with short sleeves and shorts as it is warm and you will have anti embolism stockings on.(i bought mine on line from classic british styles for £12 as i couldnt find any locally)good luck xx

I had a bra with me but I was also given one with pockets and softies when I was going home. I wore it till I got home but by then I was desperate to get it off. I mostly wore the bra support vests with softies stuck in till I felt less sore.

Button up the front nighties or pyjamas are best because there is constant checking of your wounds by nurses and doctors.

I don’t know about deoderant bcause I didn’t use it. I did use perfume. No problem with that.

Hello granny and Josie and the rest of you too,

No bra advice pre or post op from my hospital( WLE and SLN). I had bought an ASDA cheapie post surgery but found that my SLN scar was gettin v unconfortable and rubbed 9 days post op.

I went to Matalan and they have much comfier, and prettier. It varies; sometimes I need to put a bra on for comfort, but then I’m whipping it off for comfort! I have really big lumps beneath my scars, but some of this seems to me my normal premenstrual lumpiness!

Waiting to see how things improve.

Hi everyone ,surgery tomorrow waiting is over now on roller coaster . Feeling ok i think just packing bag as will stay in hospital 3-5 days having double mastectomy with full node clearence ,speak again soon xx

Good luck Josie.
