I was interested to know if anybody is from Hereford?
Sue
Tenbury? I did not go to the hospital at Hereford but went to Kidderminster for Chemo and Herceptin ,Wolverhampton for rads and Worcs for heart scans as we live right on the borders for treatment!
Tewkesbury here.
Hello both I live in Hereford and go to county hospital for my treatment, they have recently opened their new unit which I must say is very good. hope you are both ok.
Are there any more people from Hereford out there?.
Sue
Hi Vodka girl I have seen the new unit (hubby just had op there) it looks good, I have to say I have got used to the one at Kidder it is small and quite friendly . I am slowly getting there just seeing the wood for the trees! have Herceptin until April and taking Arimidex for 5 years s/e are a pain! but can’t complain some have it much harder. Does the new unit do all treatments i.e chemo,Herceptin ? don’t know think it opened after I was diagnosed. Hope you find some local ladies to answer your call!

Hi Emmy
Yes they now do all chemo and herceptin there and they are so friendly and helpful, I just come back from having my fec2 i’m having 6 fec then herceptin, how have you found the herceptin is there many se?xx
Sue
I am glad they do all the treatments there now used to be Cheltenham, a friend who had chemo for a different cancer had to travel there some years ago. As for Herceptin it’s the struggle for the veins that causes me grief! takes three/four goes so they are talking about doing a line not sure yet! S/E weight gain which is caused 'cos I have steroids with mine(had a reaction on 1st one) along with Piriton so have gained two stone uugghhh!!! I have a bit of an upset tummy just after so only have light meal or snack and don’t stray far from a loo for about 48 hours but small price to pay! Also weight gain from Arimidex so a double whammy!
There are several ladies who have no problem in fact was told on loading dose of Herceptin that they haven’t had a problem for 3 years! so guess who upset that little applecart??? Never mind it is all part of the road forward! How are you with your FEC? It’s one of those things some are ill whilst some including one of the said ladies used to go straight back to work after hers! we are all so different.

Hi Emmy
My first fec I had slighty sickie feeling and the tiredness which started my vertigo off which to me was worse as I had for 5 days, I had my second dose today and they have given me some more tablets which hopefully will stop the vertigo kicking in, but we will see I’m not looking forward to the next couple of weeks, so I will let you know how it goes.
Were you ok on fec?
Sue
I did feel quite sick but never actually was which is horrible! I have to confess I became extremely tired after the 4th one on and though I finished on New Years Eve I still get very tired even now though it has improved so much the last few weeks.I know it effects people differently so it is a case of wait and see. There are lots of lovely women on here who will give you lots of advice as they have been there and have picked up some nifty ideas you can use. The only one I can give is the best advice from my Chemo nurse who said listen to your body it does tell you what you need! only you know how you feel so do what is best for you. There was a really good link on here with a list of ideas for Chemo sorry can’t remember who or where it is but someone will be along to let you know,it’s worth a look. Keep in touch and feel free to PM me anytime.
