Hi Daffodil Rach, thats great, 19th, count me in, thanks for organising. back from hol by then, off to Cyprus, but do i need extra hol insurance now i am clear and treatment fin? some say depends how long clear for or how long fin treamtment? i have free hol ins with my bank but bet when i contact them tomor they will say it dont cover me but i dont have bc anymore do i… confusing!

Hope everyone had a nice Bank Holiday weekend.
Dry eyes seems to be getting a little better and now getting ready for my final poison tomorrow. Not looking forward to TAX 3, have not handled the last two at all well.
Rachel, did you say you start rads on Tuesday, and you still have more chemo? don’t you have to finish chemo before rads start…glad your getting to the end of the line…I keep singing that song today.
Is everyone having 15 rads or 25 and boosters? would love to hear how everyone is doing as I start my rads Sep 21. After that I’m planning on going to San Francisco for my daughter’s 30th and then to New York to see some friends… can’t wait for a vacation but I hope I look a bit better by then.

I have a LGFB appt for the 19th, but I will try and change it to another day if that is the day most folks can make the lunch, really don’t want to miss coming out to play with you all again.

Yes Noanie, I am having rads alongside chemo to shorten the treatment schedule. Dr A says no clinical reason to wait til after chemo, just historically thats the way its done and people like a break to recover from one thing before they start another. Me?? Im a glutton for punishment!! But it does mean that when I have my last chemo on Sept 28th I am finished! There is a risk of heightened side effects of doing the 2 at the same time but I like a challenge.
Meet is on for the 19th so please try and swap LGFB and come out to play!!

Shar, be interested to know what your bank insurance says as Im off to Dublin in Oct, a month after I finish so also need to check it out.
Not looking forward to rads which start first thing in the morning, but all taking me a step closer to the end so wish me luck!

Hi Mel, I had my first rads this morning too!! you must have been there when I was. The Armoury is by Welsh bridge, the Quarry swimming pool and park. I park at st.Julians and walk through the park to get there, along the river as its a nice walk but the 2 hour parking by Rowley house is nearer.
Thanks Rachel - i was there at 9.30 but did not get seen until 10.30. Ladies in radiotherapy were great - hope it went ok for you. Thanks for the info re parking - does the pub not have parking then?

Well last chemo done and dusted, not looking forward to the next 12 days, but thank god I’m done with all the poisons.
Now fretting about the rads starting 21/9, guess a some of you will be all done by then so can’t meet up for coffee :-(…but will still need all your tips and advice.

Have just had my date for pre op and it is on 19th September at 11am. So I will come along to the armoury after that, but please don’t hang around to order in case I’m late. I will definitely be there eventually and if they’re on time i should still make it easily, but thought I’d let you know.
I feel GOOD today-and have been singing ABBA very loudly. Last blood test tomorrow and then i will really feel like I have finished chemo.

Rachel hope your Dads op goes to plan on Friday, what a stressful time for you and your family.
Had part two of cycle 4 yesterday, it took them 4 attempts to get the canula in, which was really plesant for me. Would you really let the trainee loose on someone who has poor veins, well clearly!
In the end I had some Diazepam so I would let them have another attempt, I think they needed it as well in the end. Ended up chemo took 6 hours and I didn’t swear or cry!
Well my next visit should be interesting as it’s my first Herceptin one and I have to be monitored for 4-6 hours after, I’ll pack an overnight bag me thinks.

I’ve now done 15 out of 25 rads, so on the homeward stretch.
Audrey behaved herself at the party on Sat. Had to chuckle to myself as I was (mildly) flirting with the chap sat next to me at supper. Not quite a deception on the Thai ‘Ladyboy’ scale, but if he knew that he was really talking to a bald woman with a fake boob…
I’m escaping again this weekend - straight from rads on friday, I’m off to Burghley Horse Trials. Even swapped my appt on Mon to the afternoon to allow for a recovery lie-in!

Rads on a Saturday - Oncologist on a saturday wow ! I did’t think they did rads over a weekend i am not having any on a sat or sun and they have already cancelled one next wednesday due to machine servicing.
Shame i missed you Rachel and DJ007, I was sat in that tiny little waiting room for ages with 2 other ladies and i wanted to ask if they went on this site but felt a bit daft.

2nd day of last TAX, no nasty se’s yet, but so very tired. Hopefully after soaking my feet in the ice bucket during chemo, my toe nails will not hurt as much this time.
Rachel/Daff. I have onc appt on Saturday too, but Dr. A. will not be there someone else covering him. I’m there at 9:30, hopefully I will run into you.
Terri, that sounds just awful, as you still have to do herceptin, might it be a good idea to consider a pic line, I’m so glad I had my pic line put in after chemo 2, it saved me so much pain and anxiety. I have 2 more blood tests then it comes out.
Diane, LOL at you and Audrey flirting, will have to get my Audrey out of the box more often.
Beardie, how are your rad treatments going and how many do you have left? I think the Saturday appointments must be catch up due to the bank holiday.
Rachel, is your pro-op in Telford or Shrewsbury…I’m so glad that this will all be behind you very soon. I can just see you on a road trip singing aloud to ABBA, makes me smile.
I have a problem meeting up on the 19th as have a LGFB appt. in Birmingham, tried to change it but because of Rads starting on 21/9 but so far no luck. Is the 19th a definite date or are we considering others? I know I’m being selfish, but I had such a nice time meeting you all last time and do not want to miss the next one.
Sorry If I forgot to mention anyone, really have bad chemo brain this time.

I can do any day the week before, but after the 19th will be tricky for me because my rads will have finished and I’m planning to escape for the rest of that week before starting back at work full-time.

I don’t mind changing up to 29th when I have op.
I would only want you to change the date if it would be convenient or mean more people could join us. I can do it anytime as I don’t work, but I know many of you do.
Don’t worry if we can’t change it, maybe I will just bin the LGFB appt, seems like a pain to get there anyway.
Rachel, did you say your Dad was having his op today?
I hope he’s doing OK and getting better treatment in the hospital now you have complained.
Getting lots of TAX aches and pains now so off to bed.
