Sorry tried to post yesterday but for reason the computer said No!

Dx

How are you?
Sue x

Hi Sue

Gradually getting more energy back. Have taken another week off, so am going back to work (prob part-time at first for a few weeks) on Monday.

Diane x

Hi All,
Congratulations Rachel on finishing your treatments, much be such a relief to be all done and dusted.
Diane sorry your still feeling so tired and glad your taking it slowly going back to work. I’ve only had 7 rads and I need a two hour nap every day, what on earth will I be like after 33. I’m going to the US for a month a week after I finish, and I’m getting a bit nervous now that I might be pushing it.
Spoke to Rachel/Harp yesterday, can’t believe how calm she sounded. I’m hoping to pop into the hospital to see her next week if I can get hold of my brother’s car or figure out how to get there.
Sue, good luck on the 10th, what time is your appointment? maybe we could meet for coffee if we are there at similar times.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 17th.
Jean

Sue…Hooray!!!Fab to be over that last chemo.
Di, you better perk up for the next lunch meet Have a little surprise for my happy lunch time group die-hards!!
Jean, get plenty of rest and be prepared for the after burn. I have a really nasty burn just under armpit which didnt come up til after Id been finished about a week, its in a really deep dip Ive been left with after my rubbish surgery but God its so sore I cant sleep on that side or wear bra/boobs. I have had flammazine from docs but that hasnt really helped. She said, when I was there for chemo on wed, that it would scab and peel but was within the range of normal. You know me, I cope well with se’s but this is awful! Serves me right for being cocky!!

Rachel, I feel so bad for you, that sounds horrible…and they said it is within the normal range??? I think these nurses must make up this stuff thinking it will make us feel better.
I’m so afraid of the burns, I’m slathering on the aloe vera gel in the hopes it will help. I’m a rubbish patient and do not deal well with se’s. and I have 18 rads plus 8 boosters to go yet.
My sister-in-law said she got some burns under her breast and dr’s gave her some stuff they treat burn victims with, she said it helped…I will try and find out the name of the product.
I sure hope it heals up very soon…do you think manuka honey might help?

Hi All

Yay to Sue - just rads to go.
Rach - sorry to hear about your burns. I’ve been lucky and escaped - maybe spreading them over 25 sessions helped.
Noanie - I’m afraid the tiredness will probably get worse before it gets better. At least you don’t feel totally rubbish as well.
Terri - hope the first Herceptin goes OK.
Shar - are you out there, or still shattered?

Thinking of Rachel/Harp tonight.
I’m gradually perking up. Off ‘down south’ tomorrow for the weekend. It was my Mum’s 80th birthday on Tues, so a family get together is planned.

Hugs to all.

News from one of Rachel’s daughters. The op went well, she’s tired but fine.
Dx

Hi all,

Thanks ever so for best wishes, it feels really strange to finish chemo at last and abit surreal, but very pleased that part is over,

Great news to hear Rachel Harp is doing well.
Rachel daffodil sorry to hear about your burn hope it gets better soon.
And Noanie hope the tiredness improves very soon, is your appointment at Telford or Shrewsbury, mine is at telford at 10am would love to meet if you are at Telford?
Glad you are feeling better Diane and have a lovely weekend.
Terri and Shar hope you are both ok.
I have 4 crazy 11 year olds for a sleepover party for Eve’s Birthday tonight!! am I mad?

Really looking forward to the 17th.

Love Sue x

Rachel I found that blowing a cold hairdryer or a fan on the sore area really helped lot.It seemed to hasten the healing process quite a lot.I also used ‘silk’ panty pads between my bra and the burn[mine was under the breast and was very sore indeed.I didnt much like the gel dressings they gave me as they got very smelly despite daily washing!
Glad Harp is through the op safely and hoping to see you ll soon.
