Hey there, I had a similar experience so I’ll pipe in. Lumpectomy in October 2024 with sentinel lymph nodes removed for biopsy, 4 taken. My surgery site is more below my armpit. I had radiation two months later. A year out, I still feel aches, occasional pains, and muscle spasms below my surgery site.
My oncologist and internet doctors all claim this is normal stuff. Massage therapy helps a ton, as does CBD cream and self massage. Sorry you’re still in discomfort.

Thank you for your message. I’m sorry to hear you had problems too and still have some ongoing pain. I am seeing a physiotherapist for scar massage treatment which does help and I do massage it myself too, but I can’t do what the physiotherapist can do. It would be nice to have a magic cure and the pain would just disappear, but I can’t have everything, at least I’m still here, which I’m grateful for. What is cbd cream? Sending best wishes to you
Never thought too much about scar maintenance, glad that your doctor is helping!
CBD is the non psychoactive compound in marijuana. I’m in the United States so I can get it in cream format in the mail. Helps muscle and incision site pain for me.

My scar is underneath my breast and comes round to the side, it causes a lot of pain in the whole area and the top of my ribs and my armpit and it affects my arm, I think it’s down to the radiotherapy and scar tissue so the physiotherapist try’s to loosen the scar tissue to ease the pain. Thank you for the information about cbd cream, I’d never heard of it. I’m in the uk
I’d get your team to check any new or rising pain, but gently massaging the scar, doing light stretches, and using soothing creams has really helped ease tightness for me.
I eased my chronic pain by adding cbdto my routine, starting with a low dose so I could see how my body reacted. It didn’t make me feel spaced out, just a bit more relaxed, and it helped calm the inflammation. I later switched to products from a private clinic, which felt more reliable and consistent for me.
