Hi
I finished my tax chemo in January and have had two herceptin treatments. My first one was fine no se’s other than a headache. Im now suffering with sore heels and feeling a bit achy. Has anyone else had these symptoms?

hi,im on herceptin, have had 93 infusions.i do get a few aches but i think the sore heels could be from the tax.

Hi girls
Thanks so much for the feedback. Throughout my chemo i was soo fatigued and dont know if my heels are sore due to becoming active again after 4 months, its bizarre but there really sore.
Could it still be the tax even though I finished it middle of january?
Xx
hi,i think it is the tax, chemo stays in the system for some time,it takes a good few months to get it out of your system.hope this helps.
Hi there, I start herceptin and tax in three weeks, just finished FEC. I cannot sleep for worrying about it. I hear that it is bad for your heart (the herceptin)and you need to be watched carefully during andafter treatment. Have any of you any advice. I had an echocardiogram back in January, did anyone have another before the herceptin? My onc hasn’t mentioned it. She gave me some steroids to take the night before treatment. I wish I wasn’t so scared, I wish I could sleep!! any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Lizzy
Thanks Janet. Hope your well. X
Hi lizzyspain
Ive had tax and have just started herceptin. I had a heart scan prior to herceptin and the next one will be in 3 months. I also had steroids to take prior to tax. It is stated that it may affect the heart but try not to worry you will be monitored by your oncologist. Im sure you will be ok.
Big hugs Kim x
i. Kim, I didn’t have Tax. I had 8x FEC so can’t help with that. I went for my Herceptin review at the Christie this morning ( I had my second eco-cardiagram a couple of weeks ago. my result for the bench mark one was 54% my second one was 60% plus so mine has improved rather than got worse, so try not to worry too much, try to build up your stamina a bit-a bit of walking or something, that’s what I did.
Take care
Carol
Thanks Carol. Thats what I have been doing im only 38 and feel like an 80 yr old woman ha ha xxx
Hi, I have had 16 herceptin, and with each one I get more achy! lasts about 10 days, joints, muscles etc. Tke dicolfenac slow release, and paracetamol, seems to work, Ons says quite a few people get it
My heels cracked as did my hands, its because the HER2 slows down skin cells too, thats why nails etc take a long time to grow! invest in some good hand and body lotion! mine were worse when it was cold.
I have only 2 more to go, and yes I feel 97!
Carole
Hi Lizzy, I’ve been on tamoxifen and Herceptin since August, This month I was given an MRI scan and a Chest Ultrasound,I have also had an ECG my oncologist said he will be doing them every 4 to 6 months, which hospital to you go to as my Onc is based in Malaga although comes to our local hospital every Thursday.
Try not to worry too much, I know easier said than done!
I was also prescribed a tablet called Mylostan 50 mg this helps me to sleep, maybe you could ask if they would help you, they are a relaxant I believe.
Take care, love Teresa xxx
