is this ok

hello ladies.little bit about me had op in june (snb clear idc all ok) followed by 6 lots of fec that ended in nov, followed by rads that ended on 16 dec,am on tomoxifen for 5 years.question is have stared back to work in jan only 4 hours a day and have been coping well, but boob and scar still a bit soer.work in a factory doing a fiddle job so i think its just trying to build up the muscles.have seen the oncologist and she said all was ok and did not want to see me foe 3 mths.but have not seen my surgeon since i had my follow up after the op in august.think i`am just trying to run before i can walk.what do you think???

I think from the sound of it that you are doing like we all do, trying to get back to normal and the body is saying “hey steady on”. And of course having had BC once we are all paranoid about every twinge.

I was diagnosed in November 2010, had chemo (4xAC and 4xPaclitaxol), a WLE (clear SNB) followed by 4 weeks of rads, so my active treatment finished in June of last year.

I went back to work full time in August which has been fine, although I do find by the end of the week I am tired. But I have had aches in pains in my scar area and down my arm and have noticed it the more I have done. For example I have just started yoga and pilates again, so more stretching. Like you I have been assured that everything is fine.

I think if you are worried and can’t rest easy either speak to your nurse or onc again, but I work on the basis that if there was something wrong they would want to see me sooner.

I think we need to get back into the habit of going with the flow and being a bit easy on ourselves, which having gone through what we have can be more difficult than anticipated.

Hope this puts your mind at rest (a bit anyway).

Sam

thank`s sam, just need a reality check,am seeing the surgeon for the first time since op in march so will feel better after that. keep telling myself the oncologyist said all was ok so they should know.think like you said the aches and pains are all part of the healing process.just have to keep on taking the tablets!!!
