Hi Everyone,
I haven’t been on here for absolutely ages so hi to everyone who remembers me and hi to anyone who doesn’t!
Actually the reason I haven’t been on is I have been so well that I really haven’t needed to ! Things are still going really well for me so if you need a positive story read on!
Am now on 16th dose of Capecitabine and have had 4 scans showing nothing detected which is fab. I had brain mets dx in Mar 2006 and before that liver and multiple bony mets. I am fitter, thinner and healthier than I was before the cancer! I swim twice a week, do aqua aerobics, walk, cook, shop! lunch with friends, sew, paint, garden (when its dry) basically have a lovely life! My onc says I’m a miracle and an aberration as he didn’t expect me to still be here! Secondaries first dx in 2004 so 4 years on and still going strong.
Hope everyone is doing ok, will try and be of help to those who need it!
loads of love Kitkat x
How lovely to hear how well you’re doing. Positive stories like yours are a real help to those of us still on this journey, and especially to those who are just starting out.
Thank you for that, and wishing you all the very very best.
Wow is what I just said to my hubby. What a fabulous story to post and let us know that “miracles” do happen and give us all so much hope. I know each of us is different, but to hear others tell such good news is lovely.
I wish you well for the future and your great healthy life. Enjoy
Glad to hear you’re doing really well. I’m on my 22nd session of Capecitibine and also feel really well (had mets since 2004). I’ve liver and spine involvement but unfortunately I can’t exercise because of the extent of my spine mets which is a bummer really as I was really fit before, gym, ski-ing, walking, dancing, etc. but can live with my limited exercise regime now.
Like you, my oncologist didn’t think I was going to make it and was told to think about putting my affairs in order in 2006 because I was so ill with my liver. Thank goodness my oncologist said I could try chemo even though she didn’t think it would work.
I sometimes forget that I’m on chemo and the amount of people who say they wouldn’t know anything was wrong with me.
Hi KitKat,
What a fantastic post you are such an inspiration.
I was having ‘one of those very bad days’ but after reading your post I have a huge smile on my face.
Thank you for sharing
Bikinggirl
Pinkdove,
maybe you should lunch more to compensate for the lack of excercise
So good to hear from you KitKat - and also good NOT to hear from you, due to GOOD health!
As long as today’s scan results show nothing new, I will be up for round 17 on Capecitabine tomorrow. I too forget I am on chemo as I feel so well and after all, why should just some stupid lumps in my liver make me feel ill? Keep up the good work and the good life and long may it continue.
How lovely to hear from you KitKat! I’ve copied your brain diary out a couple of times for friends recently diagnosed with brain mets.
I’m now into my 5th year since mets diagnosis…stay well…xx
You know we’re the B.B!! And you’re not that far behind me!! Just heard from Cathie that she’s able to join us as she’s child free that day which is great.
See you tomorrow! Hope you’re feeling better and enjoyed your night out with S.
Great to hear from you…great to hear of a miracle…a real true one brought about by advances in medical science not spurious internet mumbo jumbo. I too have recommended your brain diaries to others.
Great to hear from you and to know how full and rich your life is! Im so happy that you are proving all those doctors wrong!
You were a great encouragement to me when I was dx with brain mets in 06, and even more encouraging now.
