Joint Pain

I have my last cycle of FEC today :smileyhappy: but for several weeks now, some of my joints have become really painful and aching, particularly my ankles when I get up in the morning. I often wake with a sore stiff neck then last weekend, my left shoulder was really sore and on Tues my right wrist became painful and swollen though I think this was due to all the chemo, blood tests etc. Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t know whether its chemo related or a chemo induced menopause (or both!) Thanks all

Hi Mac123,

What you are describing sound like the kind of aches and pains quite a lot of ladies get as a result of ‘chemo-pause’ and/or from Tamoxifen or Aromatase Inhibitors.  I was advised to take high strength fish oil (bleurgh!) which helps a bit, and my GP is happy for me to take anti-inflammatories to help with the pain (though if you are some drug trials that may not be an option).

Hopefully you will feel more like yourself soon… and hopefully get some more useful replies too!
