Angela, good luck with your scan but it’s too soon to worry about it yet!! A Halloween weekend sounds like a great idea. As the weather gets cooler, those hot flushes will be a blessing. Ha ha. Not! Meanwhile I’m feeling the cold, I’ve never minded it but nowadays I’m really nesh!
We’re hoping to get down to Devon the weekend after next to see our granddaughter, who will soon be four. We’re planning to take the campervan. So fingers crossed for the weather and also for my bloods, because I don’t want this Friday’s chemo to be delayed!

Our little ones have had nasty coughs so I had to stay away from them at the weekend. ? with my low neuts it’s just too risky.

Hi Angela, yes, you guys are great at doing the blood dance, I got my chemo on Friday. That’s two in a row!! Funny how chuffed you can feel, just because you’re well enough to get a nice dose of poison! My haemoglobin is a bit low so I’m trying to cram in lots of iron rich foods. Don’t really like red meat, but did make a lovely chili con carne last night if I do say so myself.
All systems go for our Devon trip, we’re off on Thursday for a long weekend, fingers crossed. Granddaughter spent all day at nursery yesterday dressed as a sheep. As you do. Can’t wait to see her!

Great that your bloods are behaving themselves. Yes, isn’t it crazy some of the things that make us happy now. ? I cheered in the chemo ward when the pharmacist turned up with my meds. I’d waited nearly two hours for him. Never thought I’d be excited to receive that sort of delivery.
I’m not a big red meat eater either. We’re having chilli tomorrow though. I like mine topped with a fried egg. Strange but delicious.
I hope yous have a lovey trip away. I can just imagine the photos. ? they’re just soooo lovely at that age. I’m picking miles up from school today. He’s only four. Had to hold back the tears the first time I saw him in his uniform. ?

Angela I’m pleased your treatment is going smoothly. Tatyana have a great time in Devon. Weather is beautiful today but don’t know if it will last.
I have had a great time last week. We went to Windsor, Bath and finally on to St Ives for a few days. Met with pink ladies last Tuesday in Bath and we chatted for ages. So good to see them x
I’m off to the podiatrist this afternoon to see about my painful feet. ?

I hope the podiatrist managed to help you? My right foot is almost better now. However, I woke up the other morning and my wrist joint was swollen. It had gone down by teatime. Very random. ?

Scan wwas om but suffering now with pain aa my neck had to be bent backwards then forwards so consultant can see how compromised my spinal ord is in movement ill bloody tell him my neck and arms iare killing today se obd test today not looking forward to it electric pulse signals into arms fingers and muscles to determine which nerve branches are affected and comprising ? wish me luck girls Apparently jt bloody hurts ??

Angela love the twitter stuff btw what a fantastic way of networking and promoting bc stuff to be honest i have bcc and some bc stuff etc but its quite tge community im a total social media novice this is brave for me but we are a little micro community x
Ooo Michelle. That sounds awful. Fingers crossed for today. Can they give you something for the pain beforehand? At least these scans ets should show exactly what’s going on and then hopefully they’ll be able to mange things better for you.
Twitter is great because people are being active trying to achieve better outcomes.
This thread is my little sanctuary though. I can give advice and support to others on other forums but when I need it myself I always come here.

Hi Michelle, hi all! Yes it’s so beautiful out of doors, it lifts the spirits. My bloods were playing up again, but bounced back in the nick of time to get yesterday’s chemo done, thank goodness. On condition that I go in on Monday for a blood transfusion! Don’t really mind as it will make me feel better, but it’s a very boring long day!
Had a lovely time in Devon despite the foul weather last weekend! It’s always fun to be in the camper van, and we had a great time with the family. Matilda is a four-year old force of nature!

Just got back it was lovely we are really lucky to have such a lovely place so close by only 15 mins away in the car its our go to place lots of beautiful scenery its amazing at the moment with all the Autumn colours its a country park actually with a nature trail but surrounded by the river hence the name Riverside we could have stayed longer but Ella was getting tired so came back ive enjoyed the walk
Tatanya im sorry to hear you have to have a transfusion but as you say it will probably help you feel more energetic take a good book with you on Monday im sure that could distract you im sending the ??? for Monday xxx

I’ve just given notice on my job. Going to retire-even though that leaves me without income for 6 years. Couldn’t cope with the job any longer. Hope you’re all doing the best you can . xx
Carole, congratulations on making that huge decision! I wish you all the best, it’ll be tough without the money but life will be much better without the pressure of having to drag yourself to a job when you can’t cope through no fault of your own. Your health will benefit, for sure! Sending hugs.xx

Ella has a Halloween party on Monday at soft play shes got a little costume ? i think theres a little disco thing for the kids so going along can’t wait
Im seeing Neuro doc on Thursday so I will find out what is what surgery is not what i wanted but if its needed i will do it it, so had onc follow up on Monday had reviewed scans nothing cancer related showing which was obviously good to hear my onc is lovely, a very intelligent and diligent man and a great oncologist, but im not sure he gets it if that makes sense i don’t like being compartmentalised as a statistic he seems dismissive when you want to talk about recurrence surely is a legitimate and reasonable question to ask!!! once the “treatment” is finished i find they can’t get you out of the door quick enough!?
