Got my tattoos - teenie, tiny things that even i struggle to see- last Friday and have 2 weeks before rads start so going to treat this 2 weeks as a “holiday” the weather is beautiful also.
I have started putting aqueous cream on my boobs already just to get them ready and got my baby soap and all in all ready to go. I do hope that this is easier than chemo cause that was pure hell.
Rest up and enjoy the next couple of weeks. Some people sail through rads without any trouble and others get very tired and sore. Prepare for the latter and it will be a bonus if you get off lightly. Make sure you have plenty of time to rest each day even if you don’t feel too bad in the beginning since the fatigue can build up over time.
As well as the support you receive form the other forum users you may want to have a look at the BCC booklet on radiotherapy as it contains lots of information you may find useful. If you would like a copy or to read it on line just follow this link:-
GOOD LUCK - HOPE YOU SAIL THROUGH - JUST TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME AND YOU’LL COPE. ASK FOR ADVISE ANYTIME AND YOU’LL GET SUPPORT FROM ALL OF US HERE - YOUR HOSPITAL WILL BE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND THE RADS TEAM ARE THERE TO OFFER ADVICE AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS - DO ASK THEM THATS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR. ONCE AGAIN VERY BEST OF LUCK AND JUST PACE YOURSELF OVER THE NEXT MONTH OR SO - DON’T ASSUME THAT YOU’LL SAIL THROUGH BUT IF YOU DO THAT WILL BE UTTERLY BRILLIANT. KEEP IN TOUCH. BEST TIP - TAKE A DRINK WITH YOU FOR THE JOURNEY HOME KEEPING YOUR FLUID INTAKE UP WILL REALLY HELP YOU THROUGH … AND KEEP DRINKING AT HOME AND AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED RADS.
all the best for your rads ‘cooking’ i just finished mine last week. Aqueous cream is great! Everyone is really friendly, staff and other patients.

Good luck today Chris and you too for when you start RECS.
I found the first weeks ok, it was the driving there and back that got me! Also found the extreme tiredness hit me after I’d finished and carried on for quite a while, I think I tried to work full time too quickly. I’d suggest you take things slowly after treatment finishes… and use the creams they give you. If you have any burn/rash problems then ask for manuka honey dressings.
I had my Rads planning session today. 3 tattoos in place. I was told that I don’t need to do anything to prepare and I would be given crea on Wednesday when I have my first dose. It’s odd how everyone seems to get different advice for the same treatment!
