Just been diagnosed with Grade 3 Ductal Carcinoma

Hi, just been diagnosed after finding a lump out of the blue at the end of August. I thought I’d pulled a muscle at first, but it was still there the next week so I saw the doctor and an appointment came through for the following week. The Mammogram was done that day but the ultra sound was done two weeks later. I knew already that it wasn’t a cyst, even that it felt all wrong, stinging and aching, then the nipple was very itchy. The ultrasound showed a black mass and the doctor agreed with me when I said ‘thats not a cyst’, he carried out a biopsy then and we returned this Monday for the results. The consultant was very surprised as well as he thought it was most likely a cyst. Still we have set the wheels in motion and I’m feeling very positive about the outcome. I’m an holistic therapist and have a lot of good friends to call upon for different types of therapy. I’ve delayed my surgery by about 1-2 weeks as I’m off to see my elder sister in Northern Cyprus. The Breast Cancer nurse said that wouldn’t be too much of a problem.
I’m having a 2.5cm lump removed and a lymph node biopsy followed by 4-6 weeks of radiotherapy if the biopsy and lab work on the lump are ok. Worse case scenario I have to return for more surgery, but that’s not going to happen in my mind yet!
Sounds like I might be out of action until Christmas and the New Year but I believe that will be the end of this unhealthy year,( other illnesses included a lowered thyroid action which led to muscle weakness and back problems,) and I can look forward to a return to my normal good health again.
Well thought I would share - if only to help others be more positive.
in love, light and with much laughter too.
