Hi,

I have a portacath and it’s my best friend

hi avn … what size and stage was it? i was diagnosed with idc last july just had my 1st yr check?

Hi
I was’nt given an option, so they used a cannula in the veins of my hand all through. Luckily, my veins are good. If you use yor veins, but have difficulty, they might offer a picc liner or portacath.
You don’t say if your tumour had any receptors (hormones, HER2). If you are HER2, and need Herctin, you will be offered a Portacath right from the start.
Good luck with chemo.
