Just getting my head sorted!

Hi I’m new to this online stuff, having previously been too nervous to make contact. I really think that having contact and support from people in a similar situation to me would be great though as so far it’s been a very lonely and frightening experience. My story so far…
I’m 42 and a single mum to 3 young children. I have been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer (bones). I have just had my 4th cycle of chemo, so 2 more to go, then will be on Herceptin from then on. I have just had the results of my scan which shows there has been a massive reduction in the size of the tumours so I suppose that’s good. It’s amazing what you start to consider as being ‘good new’, isn’t it?!
I kind of can’t imagine being able to carry on with my life. Absolutely everything has been turned upside down, but I know that has to be the way forward.
I would really welcome hearing from people in a similar situation to me and from people who are perhaps a little bit further along who can give me a bit of much needed encouragement and hope for the future.
xx

Hi Saz

I am sorry to hear about your recent dx however, as you say…The good news is that there has been a reduction.

There is a thread of ladies with secondaries and also for those who also have mets in their bones - I am not in a position to offer any advise as I have just recently been dx myself however, there are many amazing ladies similar to yourself on these threads.

Good luck,
Martha xx

Hi Saz

So very sorry you have had so much suffering because of cancer. But it is good news that there has been a massive reduction. As Martha says, there is a thread for those with secondaries. Here is the link:

I hope you find some comfort from the ladies in this section and be able to share your worries and fears with them. Good Luck.
