Hi Lisa sorry you are having such a rough time but promise - it will pass. Most importantly let your onc team know how you are feeling they will be able to prescribe something better to stop you feeling so sick and something for your headaches. If you are prone to headaches they can become worse when getting chemo and I was prescribed co-codamol which really did help although it made me a bit sleepy.
Many of us found every chemo different. My first was a breeze my second knocked me out completely and my last was the easiest of all. I hope you feel better very soon.
Sending hugs Anne xx
HI
I suffered on my 1st EC, sick, tired, tired and couldn’t sleep, anxious and had really bad shakes lasting 2 days… i really thought i was going loopy loo!!
in the end i was prescribed something to calm me and it worked, they said i was sensitive to the dex steroids and sickness pills so they’re not giving me those for my 2nd lot… which may i add is getting closer…a week on wednesday!!
really not looking forward to that… although now i know that the sickness does fade away after a couple of days and at the moment i feel my usual self… even though im suffering slighly with mouth ulcers!!
hope you feel better soon

lisa - what anti sickness tabs are you on? If its something like Domperidone or metoclopramide/maxolon then you need to tell them you’re being really sicky as they should put you on the better ones - something like Ondansetron - they work a lot better but make you constipated so stock up on dried fruit, figs, prunes, juice etc, mary x
Hi Ladies
Husband just got home so made effort and got up feeling little better as for anti sick i have the one an hour before treatment then for the next 2 days at same time …emed or something like that soz didnt take much notice and through in bin today so not to get confussed also tuck ondansetron but they finished today also gave me domperidone but said only take if really need to …as im not actually being sick does that mean i need them ???
Not sure if i can be like this round kids its really hard to but a smile on my face hub feed up all ready …
What do you think about tabs
lisaxxx
Hi Lisa
thanks for your comment on my post about chemo!
If you are still feeling nauseous and have been told you take domperidone then do so. They are for nausea as well as actual vomiting. If your at all unsure give your GP a call. I hope you have the same facility at your surgery where you can speak to the GP over the phone rather than having to go in or call your chemo unit.
My nausea actually last 10 days getting progressively better with each day and I take domperidone throughout that time. Very small plain snacks help to keep it at bay too.
Hope yours clears up quickly and you soon feel better!
Elinda x
thanks will start takin now wow 10 days that sound alot 4 days in lol xx
Sorry didn’t mean to worry you about number of days I feel nausous. I think that’s quite unusual so hopefully you’ll feel better really soon.

hi lisa and all you other girls going through chemo
i went through chemo last year 6 fec. it isnt very pleasant at times, but i found it was easier if you have people around you who understand or you at least feel are going to take care of you, i love my hubby dearly, but hes useless at that kind of thing. so i went up my sisters and stayed each time until the worst had passed.
at least i didnt have to worry about seeing what needed doing about the house etc, i used to give myself about a week to take care of myself, and it seemed to help, because i too was really sick(you can have an injection of district nurses if it gets too bad).
after a week i used to get out and about, to places i enjoyed in the countryside.
i found i went right off tea, and used to sip lime juice, because didnt like anything sweet either, and dry cream crackers.
but really dont try and please others just do what your body needs and youll be ok. each treatment is different so your next one might not be as bad. and dont forget the first one is a shock to the system.
you really will get through this, and it passes quicker than you think, even though it doesnt feel like it at the moment.,
take care god blessx
sorry forgot to say i was on several types of sickness meds, but found emend really suited me,
bye for nowx

I finished fec dec last year, the first saw me back in hospital with really bad headaches, burst blood vessels in both eyes ect! They found that I had had a reaction to one of the anti sickness drugs and put me on granisetron this seemed to work as not so bad after. Please tell your oncology team as they will do all they can to help. I found my 4th chemo the worst and put the flags out on my last! Keep your chin up, good luck bye for now
Feeling bit brighter friend has been round from work to chat and look after me shes also cooked a stew bless hoppe i can stomache it …
Spoke to hospital and they say the symptems im having may be due to the injections im giving my self each evening for 8 days , I think there to stop my ammunity being low .
Lisa . hope im this much better tomorro got hospital appointment …well see
