Just had last epi - next adventure CMF!

Just had last epi - next adventure CMF! I’ve just returned from my last epi - I would have liked to have said it went without a hitch, but not this time. When I got there at 9.00 for my appointment at 9.15 they weren’t expecting me!!! The nurse had put the appointment on my card but had forgotten to put it in the diary.
I was asked to come back late afternoon - problem, no car as husband working afternoons and it would mean I would be on my own (i prefer company when i can). So they said go for a walk for an hour and we’ll try and fit you in when you get back. 1 hour walk - that was great as the hospital is right by the sea followed by 1 and a half hour wait then it was my turn.
Only 2 attempts to put in needle (BCN said the ‘burnt’ veins from previous epi’s cant be used!!) then problem free.

Next step in 2 weeks time is CMF - fingers crossed that will be no worse than the epi’s

Nice one! Hiya,

I bet you’re well pleased you have finished epi, I know I will be! I’m soooooooooooooooo jealous as I am off for my 2nd epi next weds. Finishing epi can not come soon enough! I feel pretty good so far but still can’t wait to finish. Did the time go quick for you?

Hope all goes smoothly when you start CMF, god sounds like you had a right mare today which I’m sure you could’ve well done without! Be sure to let us know how you get on with the CMF, many ladies have said that it is a doddle compared to epi. Lets hope so!

Take care,

Kelly

Kelly - the accelerated EPI’s have really gone fast - I’m amased on how quick they’ve come round. I promised myself to be productive whilst off work and said I would learn Spanish for my holidays - as yet I still haven’t put the CD on and thats not due to feeling ill but not having the time to do so!!!
I’m expecting the CMF’s to drag as they are a monthly cycle - double the time of the EPI’s.
I’m sure yours will just fly by - just think you’ll be half way through nexy week. I’ll let you know how the CMF’s go

close on your heels! Hi -

I’ve just had my 3rd Epi today, and bless them they have fitted a Hickman line. It is great, my arm was getting really painful so it is no more being stabbed with needles. It is worth thinking about if they will do it.

anyway let us know how you get on with the CMF - I’m interested. Like you I think the injections on the accelerate Epi have spared a lot of the side effects - my WBC seems to be going up!

Take care - good luck with the rest of the treament

Love Swanie

Hi Swanie Like you, i really believe in that injection to help restore the immune system - I’m getting a little nervous that i won’t be having it in the future.
My bloods have not altered much my WBC was originally 7.7 and now its 7.1 and my platelets have actually increased. The Neuts have gone from 5.3 to 4.4 so the nurses have been very pleased with me - lets hope the same will happen with the CMF

First CMF Had the first of the two parter last Tuesday and to be fair I felt fine until Friday, definitely an improvement on the last of the epi. Unfortunately I overdid things at the weekend and felt really tired, we were away at the coast and the weather has been foul so I haven’t got warm yet.

Anyway I got up this morning and found I’ve got a really nasty rash on my back, hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. Anyone else had this problem? I’m off for my second dose tomorrow so hopefully they will give me something for it. My tastebuds have taken a definite hike and the only other difference I have noticed is that I need to make sure I go to the loo every time I pass one whether I need to or not, at least it isn’t painful like cystitis.

Take care everyone
