Hi, I had three lumpectomies 9 years ago, had many cysts since then but that’s all.
I had my last mammogram in September, it came back all clear, I found a lump at the beginning of December, I had to wait until Jan 18th to get an appointment.
I had the mammogram ,ultrasound then had two biopsy’s
I went back on Jan 28th and I was told I have a cancerous lump and it’s also in my lymph nodes.
i had all the scans to find out if it had spread to the rest of my body, I am very thankful that it hadn’t spread any where else I know how fortunate I am.
The next appt was the Breast MRI, my left breast hadn’t been checked yet! I went today to get the results, and find out which treatment they wanted to start me on first, waited 3 hours to see the consultant, but then the Breast Cancer nurse came for me to tell me they need more scans , I have to get another Ultrasound done this week, and then see the consultant next week, All the waiting has been so hard, I am not eating or sleeping.
First of all welcome & glad you found us, although you’d rather not be here, of course.
Do come & chat or vent whenever you need to & do look at the ‘going through treatment’ threads when you start treatment, where you will be able to chat & get support from others where you are now & further down the line.
The early days of diagnosis are the worst, but it does settle down when your treatment plan is in place.
Hi Tomidachi, sorry you find yourself here but glad you found us as you will get lots of support from people who understand what you’re going through. After the initial diagnosis is a very stressful time and the waiting causes lots of anxiety so your feelings are all very normal. I had a large tumour which had spread to 9 lymph nodes back in March 2017 and I’m back to normal and getting back on with life again, one year on since finishing treatment. Here is my story which you may find some comfort from: lifeafterlola.com/
The treatment plan can take a while to swing into action so come and chat on here if you need support or have any questions. Once your treatment plan is in place you may want to chat with others on this forum on the “going through treatment” thread. I found this really helpful. Best wishes
