Just a quickie for now. Started Rads two days ago and found the top tips invaluable. The radiographers have been fab - glad I get to see the same team for the next 6 weeks. 2 rads down - only 28 to go!!
The rads itself seem ok but it is the travelling I think that will get me down - an hour each way. I know that many of you have travelled far further.
Asked the radiographers about swimming - they said ok as long as I wash off the chlorine well.
Hope to chat to others that have just started rads.
I’m 7 down 23 to go. So far so good. Am tired this week but I think that is a culmination of stress ( my son was in a car accident - he has broken wrist - car is scrapped) and also my travel - it’s about an hour and a half. I took yesterday and today off work but intend to go back Monday. I’m working 8am til 2ish then go for my appoitment. I have 4 blast zones with different doses at each site.
I work in an accounts office and the ppl I work with are fantastic - I took 2 weeks off after my surgery (WLE) and then had to take a further week off a month later to do intense physio (I had nasty chording and a very stiff scar) to allow me to be able to ‘assume the position’ required for my rads planning … I was determined not to have to delay it.
