hi this is my 1st post.i have breast cancer and have now just started on capecitabine.the cancer has gone 2 my liver has well could anyone help and say what side affects they have had and how they have felt on this thank j.w
hi ive had 6 cycles now and for me ive had no se only a few days of upset tummy also red hands and feet that will ease with plenty of cream of course everyone is dif so the se vary but most is doable is this your first lot of chemo or have you tried others we do have a capecitabine thread will bump it up for u gd luck laura

hi laura64 thanks 4 your comments i started chemo last june ihad 4 lots of ec chemo but with no luck so was put on paclitaxel wich i had every week 4 17 weeks se where very bad.at 1st it worked but my body could only take so much so had 2 come off still it had stopped working by then so that where i am now just starting my 2nd corse of cap

I have liver & bone secondaries. I’ve had 6xEC, some shrinkage then had progression.
Then weekly paclitaxel (Taxol), only managed 5 of the 18 planned cycles, didn’t work at all, and bad side effects. (Also have had various hormonal treatments including letrozole/Femara)
I was beginning to despair of finding successful treatments… but I’ve been on capecitabine since Jan.2011 and it is working well for me. I keep an eye on the cape/Xeloda threads on here,

thank you mrsblue have you had your feet and belly swell up mine r so bad con said i am retaining water but wont do anythink about it just yet. take care 19white62
