Hi scareesheree

Welcome to the BCC forums, you can join in any other threads now if you wish to, the first post takes time to go ‘live’ but you are set up now to post without delay.

Best wishes

Hi Scaeesheree
You join in as and when you want, you can start your own thread and/or join others its up to you. When were you diognosed, what treatments etc. are you having? You say as little or as much as you need/want. Ask questions people will try to answer or put you in the right direction.
Take care Alice

Hi Scaeesheree

Hi there, why don’t you start by asking a few questions and we will try to help answer them. Don’t worry we have probably all asked the same questions ourselves.

Best wishes

Hiya Scareesheree

How you doing? Like these other ladies said you can chat about anything, ask questions, join cconversations etc etc…

My names Ali, I’m 42 from Glasgow. I was diagnosed on the 31st May - I though my world had fallen apart!. I have since had successful surgery and I am about to start chemotherapy in a few weeks. I’m terrified but know it needs to be done. Surgery wasn’t nearly as bad as i thought it would be!

Where are you from? Have you been diagnosed recently?

Take care

Hi Scareeshree
Welcome to the forums. I read alot of the threads before I decided to start one of my own. The questions I posed got answered quickly. I was so reassured by all the positvie comments the ladies on here made. It really did help.

i had WLE on a 2cm lump and SLNB on june 29th May. I just took each part of the dx step by step. I, like yourself, just wanted to know what next and when.

I’m 51 and live in Lancashire and my name is Bridie

Hi Scareesheree

I was dx on Friday (13th June) so in the same boat as you. Crying for the first few days - now in denial. Is this really happening to me? Do you feel the same. I suppose once things start moving it will seem real. I have been given 16th July for the date of my mastectomy then DIEP. Only decided to have reconstruction done yesterday. I have a large tumour 4 - 6cm but CT scan came back clear. Not told all family yet so probably will have a bad week putting on brave face when telling them. I am finding all the comments on this site really helpful - even if I don’t actually join in.

I went through this before with my Mum, 17 years ago, but things have changed so much. She made a full recovery so that gives me hope. I am trying to deal with the present - the future can wait for the time being.

Best wishes

Hi scareesheree and everyone else ,
I had a mastectomy with LD reconstruction ( but got a tissue expander instead of inplant) on May 16th. On the 26th may I was told that all my cancer had been removed with my breast, so I got the all clear. My only other treatment is five years on tamoxifen.(and my inplant op then uplift to my floppy one) I am delighted and so is everyone I know (or who knows) I feel fantastic still a bit sore but getting there but lifes back on! Just thought I would let you know that it can be ok, just take one test/op at a time and look foreward to getting that one over with. Hope it all works out ok.

Take care Diane x
