Hi,iam on number 4 of kadcyla not really sure I’ll make it to number 12
Anyone else feel sick and nosebleeds and food and water taste horrible and generally feeling unwell

Oh love I’m sorry to read this. It might be worth having a word with the chemo team to see if the oncologist is able to reduce the dose? I did that on chemo and it did help. x

Has anyone else had nasty stomach cramps with Kadcyla? I had them from day 1 on my first cycle, lasted about 24 hours. Cycles 2 and 3 no pains. Now I’m day 3 cycle 4 and boy they are back with a vengeance

Good advice iam haveing number 5 tomorrow and they are going to reduce it for the last 5 so really hope this makes life easier

They’ve given me a 5 hour slot for my first Kadcyla!!
Does that sound wrong? It’s annoyingly also a day later than I was expecting, so messes with my plans and causes me and my family stress yet again.

Oh love what a pain! I guess it takes an hour to do the admin and monitoring tests. However long the infusion takes, also are you having phesgo/herceptin jabs? If so, that is done separately to the infusion and then they probably want you to sit a while so they can monitor you. I know I had to allow about 2 hours for my first Herceptin injection, which in itself takes just 5 minutes to administer.
If this is the case, I tend to suspect that subsequent ones will be shorter. I know it must be making you feel wretched. I wish I could give you a hug. xxx

It’s just Kadcyla nothing else, my TCHP infusions were only ever booked at 4 hours if I recall correctly.
I guess by the time they’ve put a cannula in then slowed the first one down so could be 1.5hrs instead of the subsequent 30 minutes. And then it looks like they need to observe for maybe 1.5-2 hours.
Wouldn’t have minded so much if they’d have managed to book me for the right day. I can’t be dealing with last minute chair slots every session for ten months 
I had issues with late chair appointments with my previous chemo.
Gosh I know what you mean. I get a late chair slot for my Herceptin. Last time I was in there for 3 hours waiting for a five minute injection. I had to send my lift home and get my husband to come back and get me. Fingers crossed next Monday is quicker. Sending love for tomorrow. x

Hi @evicting_00_squatter sorry for the delay, not sure if you have had your first already. The first one does take longer, they want to do the medicine over an hour and a half period and then you have an hour and a half afterwards for observation to make sure you are all good and no allergic reactions.
The good news is the next ones only take 30 mins total, although a little longer waiting for a chair sometimes and to have the canular put in.
I have number three today! I feel like I should have had more by now…. never bloody ending.

I’ve actually just got home from my first infusion. The infusion lasted 90 minutes with a 15 minute flush afterwards, they didn’t keep me in for observations.
The cannula took the most time, so they’re referring me for a port. I think I’ll feel more confident about how well that’s fitted and it will make the infusions quicker
