I really wanted to keep mine but consultant says it’s too risky. I have widespread dcis with two invasive areas. Already had lumpectomy with invasive gone but now needing mastectomy. I know if lump is near nipple they don’t like too but I don’t think mine was. One was deep the other couple of inches away… can’t they test my tissue to see if its safe behind the nipple?
Your consultant may be tight.I kept my nipple,after mastectomy,then about 4 years later developed Paget’s disease .so had to have nipple removed.
