I’m five years all clear after a lumpectomy, full node clearance,radiotherapy and five years on tamoxifen. I thought I’d be top of the world health wise but recently I,ve had a kidney stone and a couple of severe kidney infections. Last time ending up in hospital for intravenous antibiotics. I’m 54 and just at the beginning of menopause I think. Just wondered if anything was linked or if I’ve just been unlucky. Kidney affected is the same side as the BC and you all know how we put 2 and 2 together and make panic.
I’ve been post menopausal for 5 years now (had a period the week after my lymph nodes were removed and that was it). I’ve had problems with slight bladder control, stress incontinence etc., since. My older sis is on HRT for the menopause and she had to have a minor bladder op last year as she kept getting kidney/urinary tract infections that didn’t clear up properly. I had a D and C back in the summer (for 2 episodes of post meno bleeding) and they widened the neck of my cervix as it was tiny. Since this I’ve had less probs, but I also do yoga, so a lot of core strength and pelvic floor stuff. Unfortunately being left menopausal / post meno by all this brings it’s own set of issues.
