KISQALI (Ribociclib) Primary Breast Cancer - just started (Dec24)

Sorry to hear this, I had a similar bout of abdominal pain during my first cycle (triggered, I think by a rather hot curry!). I spoke to my oncologist and she said that if it continued, she might reduce my dose to 200mg. Fortunately the second cycle has been fine from that point of view. So a dose reduction would always be the first option rather than just stopping. Did you try any loperamide? It’s a medication to reduce diarrhoea, I was given some when I had my first cycle.

Thanks my lovely

Hope someone can give me some hope / advice

After feeling fine for the first 12 days on Ribo now have major :poop:

Also feel like I’m coming down with something but guessing it’s the the WBC dropping

First 2 weeks bloods tomorrow

If you also has a dip, how long did it last?
Thx

Sorry I can’t offer advice but I am keen to read any replies to your post, I had my cycle one two week bloods today and started feeling a bit ropey last night. Will wait to see what my bloods show. Hopefully the dip is shortlived!

I had bloods done & my neut level is 0.9!
During chemo my lowest was 1.9…

They are letting me stay on though :woman_shrugging:t2:

As for the :poop:, stronger meds are going to be given cycle 2.

Hope the stronger meds help. I’ve got my mid cycle 2 bloods on Monday but ended up back at the hospital on Thursday with a suspected infection so now have antibiotics to take too. They’re certainly keeping a close eye while we’re on this drug.

Hi I am about to start my 3rd lot of Ribo and I have been on Letrozole for about a year have you found that it thins your hair? My hair is so sparse it is depressing me.

Hi Hodge, Im one week into cycle 4 and my hair has been growing back nicely. Rosemary shampoo and conditioner are clearly working. Hope its the same for you.

Good to know as it gets me down on occasions.

Thanks for replying much appreciated I don’t feel so alone.

I have had no issue with hair loss although I did have chemo and lost most of it. It has grown back and is still thick.
Hope this helps

I think I am on cycle 8 or 9. I keep forgetting!

Hi does anyone on ribociclib swim regularly?
Do you go when wcc above a level?
Do you just swim and hope benefit out ways risks?

I am regular swimmer indoor and out and 3yrs no swimming seem a tough ask.

Hello, I am swimming about once a week currently - I used to swim more regularly but am not pushing it too much. My team are fine with me swimming, particularly as I have some shoulder muscle issues as an extra gift from radio and it really helps with that. But also I listen to my body - I can tell now if my bloods are at a low point (16 rounds of chemo and cycle 10 of Ribo means I can normally tell). Hopefully your team would be supportive if you discuss with them?

Thanks for responding, let’s hope things improve.

Hi, can I ask what the concern is with swimming on ribociclib pls, is it risk of infection when blood count drops? I havent been advised to avoid any kind of exercise and am actually exercising lots, inc swimming sometimes, bcs of the research that it can substantially reduce recurrence risk if you do plenty??

I’m curious too. My neuts fell to 0.9 & I was told to finish my cycle

Only “advice” was to check temp if I felt unwell , which I did but no temp to continued on

Thank you thats really helpful and made me smile.
Love swimming for shoulder physio rather than land based physio.
Hope your shoulder keeps improving.

I think so but advise seem to be bit mixed.
Think seemed worried about infection maybe more so with jacuzzi/ hot tubs .
Then skin sensitivety/ rashes with chlorinated water.
Really good and helpful to hear you are swimming and exercising lots on ribociclib. I am just at start and uncertain what to expect. Loving hearing positive sides

I kept away from swimming, hot tubs etc for a few weeks after radiotherapy bcs of sensitive skin but have been swimming on and off since the Summer. I’m only 2 cycles into ribociclib but it hasnt changed exercise for me:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

I’ve not heard about issues with swimming. I actually started swimming again over the summer.
My neutrophils have stabilised around 2.5 now (not as good as during chemo but will do). I am nine months into the 3 years.
I’ve had one cold since I started Ribo and was OK, just took longer to get over it. I still wear a mask in crowded places like trains tubes and lifts and keep my distance when out and same covid hygiene like washing hands.
Exercise is key to reducing recurrence so whatever you do helps
