Knackered

I feel absolutely drained. Tamoxifen and radiotherapy is taking there toll on me. I feel very tired but am not sleeping great. Does tamoxifen affect sleep?
I had Covid booster last week so that hasn’t helped. I’ve only been on tamoxifen for a couple of months do the side effects get better

Hi Vicky, sorry to read how you are feeling. I have been on tamoxifen for 1.5 years and I still get very tired at times. I mentioned this at my last check up and was told tamoxifen can make you more tired than usual. It affects some people more than others. I just make sure I rest a bit more and organise my diary so not doing too much at a time. Hope you feel better soon x

I’m so sorry to hear you’re feeling this way.

Have you had a chance to read through the information about Tamoxifen on our website? Tamoxifen | Breast Cancer Now | Breast Cancer Now

Sleep disturbance is listed as a common side effect. I’m once again sorry that you have to go through this, and if you’d like to talk it through with one of our nurses you can reach them on 0808 800 6000.

I’ve found the following threads on the forum which might be helpful for you to have a look at:

I hope you are able to get some peaceful rest soon.

All the very best,

What alternative is there to tamoxifen? I’ve been told to stop taking it until I see oncologist as I’ve been getting dizzy head as well May be nothing to do with tamoxifen but ive never felt like this before. Time will tell
