lesbians & bi women: bye, & here's a funny story to leave you with

evenin lovelies
had an email from mike’s boss - not happy, & i can’t be bothered to accept their many invitations to make a formal complaint as they clearly don’t understand the issues
time for me to move on, anyway - i’ve been feelling v disapppointed that the equalities stuff seems to have completely stalled / regressed since the work we all did with kiran before she left, & that’s unacceptable & deeply disrespectful of the time, energy & thoughtfulness some of us gave to bcc around all this stuff last year
funny but true story to leave you with - we had a chugger come to the door yesterday with his clipboard & little id badge, & i said ‘whatever it is, i’m going to be saying no’
he said ‘it is for a very good cause’ & moved his clipboard to reveal a lovely pink breakthrough breast cancer t-shirt
so i lifted my top up & flashed him my mastectomy scars
nrs n & i have been bursting out laughing about it ever since - we haven’t laughed this much since before coming into bc wworld (d’ya see what i did there???) which is maybe also a sign that it’s time to sever the ties with an organisation that’s like all the others - just good enough as long as we squeeze ourselves into a hetty-world format & don’t make too much of a fuss - but really hasn’t got any excuse to be so behind / unthinking / unwilling around equalities stuff
keep the lesbian & bi women’s lounge open - we had to find a dusty, disused room & decorate it ourselves, after all - but as long as bcc reserves the right to be an inappropriate big brother, i’ve got other places to be
moorcow & julie d have got my email if anyone wants it
big hugs
n xx

Well, isn’t this a sad state of affairs.
I for one will certainly miss N and I’m sure I won’t be alone, not only on the lesbian threads but lymphoedema etc too.Norberte always spoke up for us and also gave lots of good advice and support to many, a lot of humour too. Now we’ll miss out and all because of heavy handed vetting and BCC not being able to see their equalities policy is not yet up to scratch…
Wish you weren’t leaving but understand why you might - thanks Norberte.
Lots of love xx

Sorry to see you go Norberte. It will be a loss to not have your interesting and informative posts.

  • But maybe you should stand your ground and not let anyone drive you away.

Norberte, again I can only mirror what Jeniffer has said, but…the time is obviously right for you…
Laughed at your story as well, I fly back to live in the UK ( West Country) in July after a few years overseas and can’t wait for someone to come knocking at my door!!! he he he…
Love and best wishes to you, xx
