Hi all last august I had BC op,followed by rads, tamoxifen that totally sent me crackers.I also am being treated for severe breast lymphodema.I am 12 weeks after hysterectomy due to giant ovarian mass, there were cancer cells found in my ovary but they think it has been contained but I will be screened three monthly for the nxt five years. Tomorrow I go to oncology where they are going to want to give me letrazole I don’t want to take it,I blame the tamoxifen for the ovarian problem and it’s the first time in almost 18 months I’m actually starting to feel better, I don’t want to take a tablet that could potentially make me feel dreadful again…thoughts please.
Hi kary
It’s always such a difficult decision to work out whether the medication benefits outweigh the side effects.
I’ve been on letrozole for a year. The difficult part is joint aches and stiffness. But this is manageable.
Side effects may not be noticeable for about 6 weeks, so maybe it’s worth a try and see how you go.
Brands can vary. I’ve been on Accord and this seems to be one of the better ones.
Best of luck
Sue xx
