Letrozole "none available

I was aware of this problem from reading another post on here. My GP gave me prescriptions for 6 months which I left with my local boots. I ring ahead and ask for the next one to be made up. I was working on being ahead as I didn’t want to run out. My chemist was hot - when I rang for my last lot they said I had already had 4 months supply and it had only been 2 months!

Goodness knows what they thought I was doing with them.

Mum managed to get her Femara ok this month. Was told problem with manufactures is sorted now.

Hi

I’ve just got my first pack of Letrozole. I’m going to taking it instead of the Nolvadex which is not being manufactured anymore.

I was a little worried that, having sorted out an alternative drug, it was going to be difficult to get. No problem at all. The pack was waiting for me when I walked through the door.

Hope you all get yours without any problems.

Hi everyone. Just been prescribed letrozole. There seem to be loads of side effects. What’s the usual? I already have no hair from the chemo and was looking forward to getting some again but now I read it is quite frequent to lose hair with this too. I have small tumours in my hip and base of skull.

Hello Gilliane
I have been taking Letrozole since June and the only side effects i have had are hot flushes i am 60 years old so i thought hot flushes were a thing of the past. I am pleased to say i have received my Letrozole my breast care nurse gave me a help line number to hand in to the Chemist. I still think it is disgraceful.
Hugs to all

hello everyone - I was changed from Tamoxifen to Letrozole in March this year and like several others, had a problem in getting my px dispensed last month and rang my BCN who gave me the phone number of the suppliers for Boots to ring, which they did and they got my supply for last month. I am due to collect my px later today so I hope they have managed to get them this time! Side effects? Yes I too have developed small joint pain(mainly feet, ankles, wrists and fingers) GP said just take paracet which ofcourse does nothing! Also now I have developed a “trigger thumb” which is very painful - nothing for that either other than ibuprofen gel! However as I am told Letrozole is the best for BC I guess I will stick it out - I have another 18 months to go before my 5 years is up. I guess the joint pain is a small price to pay!
