Just been doing a little early days research on recon and I’d pretty much decided that I won’t be doing it as I *really* don’t want more surgery, I certainly don’t want muscle to be taken from other parts of my body just to have boobs back. And I’m not sure about implants because of fears of rejection (the implants not me LOL).
So figured I was out of options until I happened across some mention of lipofil.
As I had a bilateral mastectomy I am at least symmetrical but bony and I’m not fond of that so the idea of a little lipofilling sounds like a plausible possibility for me.
Has anyone had this done without having muscle used from elsewhere on the body? If so are you glad you did?
Anyone know if it is at all possible to get a little shape back ie bulging outwards rather than the ever so slightly concave effect I have right now?
I will have a chat with my consultant surgeon when I next see him in oct but thought I’d get the lay of the land from you lovely honest ladies.
Hi Vertangie, can’t really help you here, i have had a mastectomy on the left side with back muscle and implant and am very happy with the results, i am having the same done on the right hand side in october, its worked for me. hope someone can help you on what your seeking

Let me know what you can find out! I want this done for the same reason as you: don’t want a new boob, but would love to fill in the dents.
There’s a lady doc doing this in Scotland, but my consultant here down south keeps saying there are trials going on but it is still very new…OK so put me on a trial I thought.
I know your not keen on having more surgery, but have you looked into a DIEP recon, this is done without taking any muscle, I have had lipo to fill in a dent on my recon which gave a good result.
Angie havent heard of it. Im terrified of surgery sooo much that’s why wanted recon at same time and god knows how I will put myself through surgery but Im still soooo big on other side causes me lots of probs and cant hardly wear any of my tops (not that ive ever flashed any cleavage
