Hi all,
I had my lipofil on Thursday ,my PS took fat from under my arm on my recon side which was annoying me,it looked like another boob! Also from my other underarm AND my tummy.My bruising is spectacular but the pain is easing today.I think it was worse as I had so many areas attacked.
My recon looks a much better shape now ,much more natural and less “posh spice” I just hope it lasts.
I also got a new nipple which I haven’t seen yet as its covered in a large square foam pad. I’ve nick named it “sponge bob square nipple”
The dressing is so large it will show through anything I wear.

Thankyou for your wishes, back home now. Op took two hours, wearing a corset to help with the bruising, have a bandage over new nipple so can’t actually see full extend of the fill but comfortable with painkillers. They took the fat of my flanks. Back on Thursday to change dressings and surgical follow up in two weeks. Good luck for all recovering or going in this week! xxx

I am reading this thread with a good deal of interest as my op has now been put back to 14th Dec. I am having a “re-do” of my reduction (good side) and lipo fill/ sculpture to my recon and hopefully my nipple to increase projection. I think he will take the fat from my thighs, as had abdo lipo last time round to improve scar contour, getting a little worried as do feel that I should be careful with my weight but also need to make sure there is sufficient for him to take - lol. How long do you think I may be off, now that a few of you have experience of this procedure?

Hi, had the op Monday, they took the fat from both flanks, revised my back scar from the ld flap and did the nipple, had overnight stay and rested yesterday after coming home. Pottering around today, doing washing, dinner etc, have to go school run as OH back to work. Dressing due to be changed by BCN tomorrow. It looks bruised but with some nurofen stingy rather than pain. Still wearing corset for the bruising! Good luck! X

I’ve just back from hopital today after my lipofilling op. I spent the night in hospital. The op went well and I can see the results ( hope that too much fat isn’t reabsorbed) I was in theatre for about 2 hours as I expected and felt ok. I had a meal about 4 hrs after getting back to my room and proptly threw it up again (sorry if you’re squeemish) and was sick again about an hour later. I was given an iv anti sickness drug when sent my pulse sky high, a doctor was called and I was monitored for a few hours thankfully it return to normal. I don’t seem to have much bruising at the moment and am not in much pain. The down side is that they didn’t take as much fat as I would have liked from my tummy. I’d like to think that they’re saving it for my next session ha ha. Overall I’m happy with the results. Hopefully I can have a reduction on the other side in the New Year. - An almost matching pair at last!!
Hi cadi, glad you have the op behind you, have you been given a corset to wear for the bruising? I have mine on most of the time do far and the bruising is not too bad. Back to normal routine. Had my dressings changed today, all healing well. Had also expected for more fat to have come off buy so far all looks good. Take care&rest. Tina
I haven’t been given a corset to wear and when I mentioned the "magic nickers"he seemed quite amused. I have very little bruising so far but am in more pain/discomfort than I was in yesterday. They advised taking paracetamol and diclafenac which I have been taking. I have a follow up appointment on the 30th Nov and he’ll remove the dressings then. I’ll have to go on that diet after all to get rid of my spare tyre!!
Hi to tina and cadi, hope your feeling better as each day passes. Glad to hear things seem to have gone ok and hope any pain and discomfort will start easing off soon. I went through alot of paracetamol in the first few days! but then I tended to take them as soon as I felt any pain so that I didnt have to be in pain for half hour waiting for them to kick in!
I was told the compression garments are also to help the skin ‘stick’ back to the fat and tissue underneath smoothly in the place where theyve removed fat from ( if that makes sense!) , as well as for bruising, so it might be worth asking about this Cadi.
Maggie: if you mean off work, most of us have taken about 2 weeks, it depends on your job I suppose. My experience was that I definitly felt pretty much my usual self after 2 weeks and though acheyness persisted for quite some time it wasn’t too bad.
Won’t it be great when were all finished with our procedures! happy thought

Hi, not feeling bad at all, bruising coming out now and just took a painkiller at night. Sharing, I was told the same as you in respect of wearing the garment. So far it looks plumper in the reconstruction propably not as full as I expected. Will see how it looks once the stitches come out from the nipple reconstruction. Hope everyone else recovering well! X
Hi just home yesterday after lipofilling/fat transfer so glad I have read all the reports you have posted are most helpful ,still very sore in tummy area but breast all coverd so not sure how much diffrence it has made will keep yous posted .

Just wondered how you are all doing? OK I hope with all the pain and bruising subsiding. I had my pre op today ready for the 14th Dec and had a little moment as one bit of my procedure was stated as “nipple reduction” when in fact I was hoping for the fat transfer to improve the projection of my nipple! Frantic phone call to plastics team and yes it should have said fat transfer instead. Just need to make sure surgeon knows what he is doing when I go in!!! lol

Hi Marjsy, glad you had the paperwork for your op sorted out. My stitches came out today and apart from the nipple needing to heal, I have recovered well from the op exactly two weeks ago. Was a bit stiff last week but probably a bit overenthusiastic catching up with jobs around the house! Hope all the other girls are doing well, too. Seeing the surgeon next week to evaluate the surgery outcome. Happy healing! X

Please don’t overdo things especially with Xmas around the corner. Keep us informed as to how the surgery has gone and hope the nipple keeps on healing.

I’m back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks off. I feel pretty much ok. The bruising has almost disappeared I just have a bit of stiffness in my side where they took the fat out. I should have gone for the follow up appointment today but have had to re arrange for Friday as the weather was too bad. I went up to our local surgery and they took off the dressings. I’m still pleased with the outcome. One more session should do the trick. I hope that all the other ladies are healing well.
