Liver function tests and secondaries

Hi all,

Just wondered if any of you with liver secondaries have elevated enzymes ?

My gamma gt in particular has shot up in 3 weeks to over 500.

Has this been a sign of secondaries for you ?

Hi Julie

I know that I get liver function tests every time I see my onc team (six-weekly now), but they’ve always been “normal” throughout my seven+ years of liver mets. So . . . . not sure how reliable they might be. Or maybe I’m just weird!

I have liver function tests every time I go for treatment as I they think I may have a liver met. They have now been thinking this for 2.5 years now!! No one has ever said that there has been a problem with the LFT results, although last week after I had an MRI scan on my liver the rediologist said that sometimes ensymes in the liver do go up and down and its not related to cancer.

I saw my MRI and on one of the cross sections I could see a very small white blob on the edge of my liver. I hope to have more info on this when I have my next appt on 30.03.11.
