Hi, I think there are quite a few of us here. You can read my profile, and I am now coming out of it a 2nd time. It realy ins’t fair is it.
All the very best to you
Love Maria

I’m on my 3rd time now…:frowning:
First time 10 yrs ago, second time 7 yrs ago and third time about a week ago now. Last two occurences in same reconstructed breast.

'am hoping it’s a local recurrence again and that surgery and hormone treatment will be enough.

Really not fair as I thought I’d put all this behind me for good…

hugs

As Maria says - there are quite a few of us okeydokey :(. Mine all kicked off back in 1990, next primary in 1996, then 1997, other breast 1999, bone mets in 2002, and currently a tumour next to my lower spine! Quite a record but still going strong. Don’t give up hope.

hiya okeydokey

i had a first diagnosis of BC at 37 and 2nd primary (very different type) at 40 and it freaked me out to get 2 primaries within 3 years by the time i was 40 so i do really feel for you.

i dont know your family history but if you havent already you may want to consider a referral to genetics to discuss your risk.

you can read my details in my profile… and do please get in touch if you wanna chat.

i had breast cancer 10 years ago in left breeast grade 2 stage 2 i node pos clear margins very small tumour below breast bone, had mini flap op and radio chemo and tamoxifen. Now after having 3 children i was diagnosed in june with a 2nd primary on the same breast. I was pregnant at the time with my 3rd only 6 weeks to go.It was devastating at the time as you have moved on after 10 years. The tumour was by my armpit only 2cm grade 2 stage 2 and a scattering of cells in a node in breast, clear margins again.I had a left mastectomy this time only because i had bc again. I havent had recon, not bothered at the moment im only small anyway so it doesnt feel odd ,just bought mastectomy bras for prosthetic. Not sure wether to have left breast removed as a precaution not sure if it will make any difference,as people have had cancer return on their reconsructions.I also had genes tested and im not a carrier, so thats a relief. Both my cancers were hormone receptive also. Am feeling positive nearing the end of chemo ,5th one nxt week been on fec, it wasnt so bad.

Hi okeydokey- hope my daughter’s expereince will encourage you -although her details are not identical.

She was diagnosed at 32 with triple neg BC and then 4 years later with a 2nd primary (this time hormone receptive) in her other breast. She is now 40 and after 2 mx and 2 recons, several lots of chemo and one of rads, has had another child and is very well.

thanks for the positive comments ,i love hearing good news, prob wont come on the chat forum much as i need to live my life without constantly thinking about bc ,but im sure it helps a lot of people.Dont spend your life thinking of what could happen and enjoy your wonderful life xxx

Hi there. I am yet another on this growing list! I had my first BC oestrogen positive grade 1 in Oct 2005. WLE with lymph node removal in left breast. CMF chemo followed by rads. Second primary came in Mar 2008 Grade 3. In same breast! Had Epi CMF chemo plus Herceptin as was Her2 positive. i opted for bilateral mastectomies with implant under the muscle reconstruction. Best decision I ever made. I am so very thankful that I am able to say that I am indeed living proof that you can beat this! Its just so unfair for everyone. I wish you all the very best and if you would like to chat privately at any time, just message me xxxx big hugs xxx Emma

Hi
I’ve also had 2 primaries. First in 2005 which was triple neg, had chemo and rads then second diagnosis Aug 09 in same breast under lumpectomy scar! This one was ER+. Had mastectomy in Sept 09 and am now about to have my recon, feeling great at the mo. You can see my threads on here with Lulu’s too.
Sending you a big hug and wishing you well
