Thank you for this info. I’ve just phoned but the lady I need to speak to has left for the day so she’s phoning tomorrow. I can get a train from Romiley straight to Sheffield. Anyone else going?
I am going to this event and just wondered if anyone else on here has signed up or thinking about it? I’m 34 and found out about the secondaries in March. I haven’t met anyone else with secondaries so it sounds like a good opportunity.
Looking forward to meeting you on 19th Nov. Aroma, sorry you won’t be able to make it. Maybe there’ll be a few more of us booked on it by then.
I’m booked on something in Manchester soon as well. can’t remember the date now. Then the Liverpool meet in Oct. Life just doesn’t get better. Shame it’s all about cancer. Still, every cloud …
Suggest you go to the first page of Breast Cancer Care website and look at Around Britain (on left-hand side of that page) and there’s another one about Support or something. I’ve just looked but forgotten it already :(. They’ll tell you what events are happening around the country. Or phone one of the numbers at the top of this thread for Health & Wellbeing.
I’m hoping to go to Sheffield event too, I can see that with a Kara and a Caro things could get interesting names-wise! I’m hoping to go by train from York.
Lynni do the trains go from Newcastle to Sheffield? Perhaps changing in York?
Maureen, is this the equivalent of cancer-event crawling?
It does feel odd to be looking forward to a cancer related event but it will be lovely to meet you all. I love the idea of ‘cancer event crawling’! Are you ladies undergoing treatment at the moment? I am on chemo but should have finished by the end of October.
Just had a very nice chat with Mel from Breast Cancercare about the above day and I’m definitely booked on it. Really looking forward to it. She’s booking me in the hotel the night before, so maybe we can all have dinner together?? I think it’s all free
Kara, I’m not on any treatment at the moment. I just take Aromasin and Bondranat daily. I just feel so sorry for all you younger ladies, and I admire your strength so much.
I cannot make the Sheffield event although I’d love to come as I have recently been diagnosed with secondaries in the bone. I will definitely go to the London one in February.
I will be interested to read your comments after the November event.
