DCIS is not lobular cancer Hi Alise
DCIS is ductal ca in situ. In situ means it is confined to one place and is not invading surrounding tissue. Lobular cancer can also be invasive or in situ. It is much less common than ductal cancer and accounts for around 10% invasive breast cancer. It is more difficult to feel than other forms of invasive cancer so is often not noticed until it is bigger than other forms of invasive cancer. It is more likely to be bilateral and occur in multiple areas within the same breast. The treatment and outcome is similar to invasive ductal cancer but likelihood of second cancer in other breast is higher.

Hope that helps
