I am a long term breast cancer survivor with an immediate breast reconstruction (1999) LD flap with implant. Having tried to do some research into long term survivors with reconstructions, mainly for a short piece in a GAP analysis for a surgical paper, but I am struggling to find some relevant studies. I would like to know if people have had any long term issues relating to their reconstruction, quality of life, that sort of thing.
In these times highlighting the importance put on patient reported outcomes (not just the surgeons views) and also survivorship in general, I think it important to look at reconstruction, not only immediately after surgery, but longer term.
