Look Good, Feel Better

Hi Girls

I just wondered if these Look Good, Feel Better meetings are worth a visit. Be good to hear your views.

I am feeling a bit of a car wreck at the moment and am considering one of these meetings.

Hi

Yes totally worth it. You get a lovely bag of goodies and they make you feel really at ease and normal. Could be just what you need. Although my bank balance has now taken a beating as I buy the more expensive products that I got in the bag instead of the cheaper stuff I used to get.

here here definately worth it the goody bag must have been about £150 worth of lovely cosmetics and skincare some great tips on disguising eyebrows and lashes etc aswell .definately a great pick-me-up when you need it and we all had a really good laugh and chat xx My profile pic is after i came back from mine and bought a new dress for a wedding night do Julie

Do go, the people were lovely. I had been quite depressed but had a great time. I discovered what I had been doing wrong all these years and the bag of goodies was a great bonus.

Just been to one on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. Picked up loads of make up tips, met women at all different stages of treatment and looked at lot better at the end of it.

Thanks for your comments. Well it sounds like a good experience. Well I have nowt to lose by going to one do I. Like you say it might be just the thing I need. Be good to meet other ladies in a more social situation as currently the only time I meet fellow sufferers is on treatment days!

I do feel slightly apprehensive about going and I’m not to sure why! Probably just me being weird! Get a grip Bird! LOL!!

Hi
You can take a friend. I took my mam with me. It’s nice to share and it might make you more relaxed. I really enjoyed mine. The ladies doing it were so nice and it is lovely of them to give up their time. The women there for the session were a good giggle too. Debx

I have mine next week and my friend sue from this forum is coming with me to hold my hand as I am only 36…

Hi
Not wierd at all! I felt apprehensive before I went as well-it was right at the start of treatment for me and I was still in a daze and I wasn’t feeling very sociable! But I think if you can bear to just go with it and do it anyway, it is worth it. The goodies alone are nice to come away with, it was all very friendly and supportive.
I also found it really useful- thanks to their techniques even some of my very close friends didn’t realise that I’d lost eyebrows and lashes during chemotherapy.
If you do go I hope you enjoy it.
