Hi everyone
Is anyone elso losing the plot on hormone therapy.
Nipped home in my lunch the other day to hang out washing [sad I know] to find I’d loaded machine, put in powder etc didn’t switch it on.
I thought that was bad enough but this morning I’ve put the ruddy machine on with no washing in it, what is wrong with me for goodness sake.
Please tell me I’m not the only one going barking.

No you are not the only one, I think my shocking memory is due to lack of sleep from hot flushes.
In fact the hot flushes have been really bad the last few days. Black cohosh does not seem to help, might try red clover next. Then might try my gp as there is a mild antidepressant that reduces hot flushes. I ve been on tamoxifen for 3 months and I had headaches and nausea to begin with but they have now gone. It could also be that you have alot on your mind.

I’m a mess at the minute and have been on Tamoxifen since September. My memory is shocking and I can’t remember my words when I’m chatting.
You’re not alone!!

Hi Andrea68
Just a little advice, please don’t take any herbal remedies without checking first with either your G.P. or medical team while you are taking prescribed medicine (Tamoxifen) in order to avoid any unwanted adverse effects.
Kind regards.

Have stopped my Tamoxifen for a month, have felt like a human again. My GP & Onc have started me on Arimidex, not sure what to expect but will give it a try.
I’ve justed started on Tamoxifen and after 6 months of chemo and surgery I now feel normal. However I’ve cut down on all that running around like a headless chicken. In future I will watch what I say yes to and that helps me remember all of those little things my family need that I forget, football kits, french book etc etc.

I have been on Tamoxifen for 18 months and also take 10mg of citalopram a day which is a mild anti depressant. I didn’t realise how much the citalopram helped until I stopped it for a week. I then had terrible mood swings, depression and flushes for england. I now find that with half a Tamoxifen tablet morning and night and a half a citalopram, I get much fewer flushes and feel more balanced and normal. The brain, however, is another kettle of fish. I am so tired of forgetting my words that I usually give up half way through a sentence as it is too much bother to continue. I too do strange things with washing. I often throw pants and socks down the toilet instead of putting them in the laundry basket, I have also unloaded the dishwasher when the pots haven’t been washed. I am so forgetful that I leave post it notes all around the house as reminders and I have just gone overdrawn at the bank for the first time in 21 years of marriage by using a debit card instead of my credit card to pay for car insurance. I am going to bed now before I do any more damage…lol

My Son nicky has been on tomaxifen for past 12 months, I feel so sorry for him as he does not know what has hit him, hot flushes, weight gain and no memory, but on the plus side he now understands and Is very sympathetic to us ladies now

Hi
I blame the chemo for my lack of brain. Not on Tamoxifen but tried and ditched Femara.
My friend who is 7 years down the line ( er-) blames the rads. She’s convinced they missed the remains of her boob and zapped her brain instead. She has post it notes all over the house. She even forgot to pick her grandson up from playgroup.
