Hi just had my 3rd Tax delayed for a week due to a low platelet count , it was 80. Has anyone else had this problem ? I had a Neulasta jab after the 2nd Tax due to neutropenia. Is ther anything I could do to get the count up ?
Any advice would be welcome.
Jean
Hi T
I had this problem all thru chemo. I was told to eat a high protein diet and that should help but did have to have a transfusion at the midpoint.
Good luck
Jane
Hi Jean
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what should our white blood cell and platelets actually be? I look on my notes when I’m having chemo and it says 3.7 and platelets 269 - I’m guessing in comparison to you 80 my platelets are Ok
I do hope you get sorted - sorry I can’t be of any help - everything is very new to me at the moment.
Take care
Linda
HI linda, my platelets were 235 on last chemo blood check, so yours sound ok. I believe normal range is between 150 and 500.
hope that helps.
Jean.
Thanks Jean - I appreciate you replying. It just helps having a few facts behind you.
All the best
Linda
Someone’s given me a jar of honey with propolis in it - natural anti-bacterial, anti-viral, antibioitic agent of the beehive…
My blood count was OK, and I’m hoping that this will just give me the boost I need to fight off infection naturally, as I acquired one within a week of my first FEC… I’m sure the honey is available from many places - mine came from beeliefbotanics.com if you’re interested… Hope it goes better for you… Jane
