Lump and pain... Be honest

I know I shouldn’t worry till I’ve been seen but I would like some honesty of what you think.
I’ve had breast pain for about 5 weeks now and refused to feel for a lump as I was too scared:( anyway the pain is now on my armpit and there is a lump. The doctor has done an urgent referral as she said the lump is very prominent and wants me seen asap

Hi,

The not knowing is stressful in itself & you can’t help but worry. I am in your position, had painful breasts & a rash last year, thought nothing of it. Found out over Christmas my natural Grandma died at 26 of BC, so mentioned symptoms at my family planning appointment. They found a lump, so advised see GP urgently. That was just over a week ago, this Friday I go to the breast clinic.

I am trying to stay positive, I have decided to in effect,  “Own my lump”, my husband knows but I decided not to tell anyone else yet, as it is probably nothing  since I am only 36, but it doesn’t stop me worrying or thinking what if & researching if it is the worst what would treatment entail.

If you want to PM me, feel free, otherwise try to stay positive & when you need to post on here, I have found so much support in my short time being a member.

Sending you positive thoughts & vibes
