I know I am most probably panicking about nothing but found small lump at top of my good breast (near armpit) last week. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow but can’t help feeling the worst.
First diagnosed April 2008 WLE and axilliary clearance Grade 3 2.8mm tumour but nodes all clear, not happy with margin so re exicision in June 2008, still not happy so MX july 08 follwed by chemo as TN.
Recon LD flap in Feb this year and thought it was all behind me.
Husband is unwell COPD and heart problems and not coping at all well so can’t even tell him.
Sorry I feel so sorry for myself but its great to put it into words.
I know it should be Ok and if not I will have to cope with it and I wont be alone.
Take care everyone

Hi Liz - So sorry you are having so much worry - you have more than enough to cope with already. As you know, it could be anything, such as some sort of cyst, so try and think the best unless proved otherwise - almost impossible, I know.
Please let us know how you get on. Good luck for tomorrow.

Really pleased you could put it into words here.
You sound pretty alone at the moment with circumstances at home and that’s not helping is it?
Really hope this evening and tonight are not too unbearable for you. Why not come back and share again how you’re feeling???
I’ll be back sometime this evening after work so it would be good to hear how you are. I was on my own throughout this journey and I know how the thoughts in isolation feel…
Keep posting and if not tonight let us know how you get on with the Dr.tomorrow. Then you can plan the next step…
Big hug from Welsh girl x

Hi Liz
Just to let you know we are all with you on this one and sending lots of hugs. It’s a wonderful site for support, as I already knew, but had some more proof when I needed it yesterday (need cyber hugs thread). It is so difficult, once we have had the dx of bc, but at least we are more aware of our bodies.
Here’s hoping for a good result tomorrow.
Love Maria
Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.
I know its a great site as I used it lots when first diagnosed and going though chemo. Not been on much until now though.
My appointment is at 3.15, its going to be a long day.
I know from before that if there is any doubt my gp will send me to our one stop breast clinic where they do all tests on one day.
Will let you all know how I get on…
Fingers crossed…
Take care everyone

Just back from doctors and as I thought she is going to refer me to Breast Clinic as I’m due my annual check-up anyway. So here we go again waiting, waiting and waiting. Last time it was 3 weeks but they are so busy that it could be longer this time.
Don’t they have to see you within two weeks, regardless of how busy they are? At my hospital, they just seem to book everyone in with a general appt time and you just have a very long wait. Good luck, Liz.

Hi Ann,
We all have our own appointment time but it takes a while as they do whatever is required. eg mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, bcnurse etc
Its all over and done with.
They are extremely busy though and need a third consultant but cannot get any more theatre time - only two days a week. One of my doctors referred 3 people last week alone…
love to all Liz
Liz - We do get our own appt time but they warn you that you could be there some time. Like yours, it is a one-stop clinic, which is really helpful. The only thing I had to wait two weeks for were results from biopsies and surgery. When I had fluid-filled cysts, they drained them on the day.
As you say, the waiting is truly awful. I hope you can find something to take your mind off it all while you wait.

liz as you are an existing patient you can ask your BCN to chase up the referral for you… it would probably have been quicker to go this way than through GP… as the GP is usually the first port of call for new patients rather than returners.
maybe if you give your BCN a call in the morning she can follow it up and arrange a quicker appt.
when i found a lump in my breast 3 years after original lump i called my bcn on the fri and got an appt on the monday… had an untrasound which showed all was ok only to have my annual mammo a month later and find i had a tumour in other breast… again they were very quick… mammo was on the thurs they phoned on the mon and had repeat mammo that thurs.
fingers crossed you can get seen quicker and that it turns out to be nothing serious.

Hi Lulu
Thanks for your comment.
Phoned bcn yesterday says she will keep her eye out for referral from doctor.
They only have clinic with everyone there on a wednesday so I suppose we all have to take our turn if we are to get the best treatment.
hugs to all

Hi everyone
Thanks for your support but everything was Ok
I’m glad I’ve been through it all before as I feel so sorry for those just starting.
I received my appointment yesterday for 7th July butthen got phoned at work with a cancellation for yesterday.
My consultant said that he had got my appointment early would have been a few more weeks and that when cancellation came up he thpught of me.
Imagine having to wait 5-6 weeks for your first appointment and thats with them running a second clinic. So many are being referred to the clinic that they just cannot cope…
Thanks again for your support it got me through it and i was a lucky one this time
Liz
