I recently found a pea sized lump in my breast that is not moveable. I went to the doctor today to have it checked out. At first she couldnt feel it and then after I showed her where it was she told me I needed to have a mammogram. I am pretty concerned. I have read on the internet that if it doesn’t move it is not a good sign. Did anyone else have this experience? I am 25 years old and don’t have any history of breast cancer in my family but I am still concerned.
I’m 34 and waiting for an appointment at the breast clinic to get a lump checked out. Try to stay away from Google, it’s not helpful. I’ve read the thing about whether it’s moveable or not too but they would be sending you for a scan either way because they can’t actually tell you what it is until they do their tests. I know it’s scary - I’m scared too - but try to look on the bright side. Most lumps turn out to be nothing to worry about and these tests are just to make sure of that.
At the appointment, younger women tend to get an ultrasound rather than a mammogram. The good news is that this is more comfortable to have done.
