Hi there,

I would go and get it checked again just to put your mind at rest and to be on the safe side.

hope all goes well

Hi Mishkey

I agree and would get it checked out again. I don’t want to scare you but 9 months before I had my diagnosis, I had a very small breast lump. Had a needle boipsy and was told it was benign. Over the months that followed it grew to twice the size. I only went back to see the consultant because it made my boob look strange, and I wanted to see if they could remove it. When he was examining me he felt a lump under my arm, and was worried. I had a proper boipsy (rather than a fine needle one), and it turned out to be cancer. I was shocked to say the least after being told it was nothing to worry about months before. I’m not just over 2 years from diagnosis and I’m doing well. I would advise any woman who’s had a lump diagnosed as benign, to get it re-checked if it changes in any way.

Hope it turns out to still be nothing to worry about for you xx

Hello Mishkey,

Yes indeed get it checked. You have to be prudent and are wasting no-ones time. I was diagnosed 5 years ago with fibroadenomas and told they may grow bigger so I ignored them growing for many months.

Eventually I went to GP for referral and was put through as non urgent so it was 3 months between GP and diagnosis so I would also suggest that you ask for an urgent referral. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you are expecting the worst but waiting 3 months was very tricky I found!

Good luck with it all.

Hi Mishkey

Yes, go and get it checked straight away, if only to put your mind at rest and ask your Dr what the original diagnosis was. I’ve had breast lumps all my life and each time I’ve found one I’ve had it checked out by the experts (my Drs words) 4 times they were benign and so I wasn’t unduly worried when I found the last one and this one was found to be BC. All I can say is never ignore any changes in your body especially lumps and let the experts do their job.

Best wishes and *try* not to worry.
