Hi, im currently going through treatment. I had a masectomy on feb 6th.

Clear neck to pelvis ct before that.

Chemo started in april. I noticed a lump on the front of my head when my hair fell out. I mentioned it to my oncology dr who didn’t seem so concerned. I wasnt sure if my head was always like that. Its still there. Painless and ive no symptoms with it but its driving me insane. Im worried its skull mets. My next appointment is tuesday. I have contacted the sos line again about it. No one seems in a rush to find out what it is. But i want to know. Its my life at risk

Thanks for posting.

It’s understandable to feel worried that the lump you have noticed on your skull could be bone mets.

As you say this may be the shape of your skull but it’s something that you hadn’t noticed before your hair fell out. There are also a range of benign conditions that could cause a lump like this.

Its sounds like you have contacted the 24-hour chemotherapy contact number about it. You also explain you have your next appointment on Tuesday next week. Do let your team know at this appointment just how worried you are. They will properly assess you and arrange any investigations if necessary.

If you do feel unwell or develop new symptoms that you are concerned about over the weekend you can contact NHS 111, attend an urgent care centre or A and E.
