Hi hope someone can help put my mind at rest, had WLE and SNB in November and all seemed well arm had pretty much recovered from the cording and only some numbness remained, but pain has returned causing restriction in movement and i can feel a lump near the scar for the SNB, has anyone else experienced this, is it deep scaring/fluid/or cancer? have got to wait till monday to see doc wonder if anyone can put me out of my misery before that…thanks x
Have you continued doing your exercises? If you haven’t, it’s possible that everything has tightened up again. Normally I do some stretching exercises every day (even three years on from mx) but last summer, 2 1/2 years post mx, I forgot for 10 days while we were on holiday, and my shoulder started to stiffen up.
The lump you can feel may be scar tissue.
hi roadrunner
thanks for that i have been using arm as normal but havent done any specific exercises, will give it a go and hope it loosens things up again, thanks again x
to try to reasure you more, I’ve still got lumpy scar tissue from my SNB, 7 months on. And another bout of cording, so I need to get stretching again too!
Hi Lillyloo
I had 2 WLE Nov/Dec ( no clear margins the first time) and then SNB and also developed a lump near the scar. Went back to see surgeon, he did an ultra-sound and found a large cyst - which he then drained. Appartently it’s quite common. Couple of weeks later another lump, thought it was another cyst, went back to see him again but this time he assures me it’s fibrous tissue at the edge of the scar site - he did check with another ultrasound.
Also mid way thru rads and been told that the rads can cause ‘thickening’. He also gave me some cream for the cording -called something like capsicum which really helped. Saw onc today and he said new lumps are normal at this stage but hardly ever a recurrence of cancer this soon. Still going to get every new / different lump checked - he’ll be sick of me soon! Good luck for Monday.

Hi thanks for the reassurance had hospital appointment today and doc says nothing to worry about(couldnt feel it much today, typical) but if he’s not worried i wont worry. x
Glad I found this thread, I found a small lump yesterday just above my nipple, just above the line where the scar goes, but I’m only 13 weeks post surgery, WLE, and just had 9 rads out of 33, so maybe it’s just things settling down into place and the rads having some effect…hopefully, but I will be watching it…see oncologist next week if it’s still around
