Lumps in the reconstruction

Hi girls,

Its a while since I posted. Had a mastectomy plus Diep Flap recon in June
for med to high grade DCIS. Went to see the plastic surgeon today to discuss
the finishing touches i.e. the nipple. Mentioned I had a couple of lumps in
the recon, they aspirated them straight and sent away for testing. Very
worried as the doctor said he had not seen anything like the liquid that came
out. My question is has anyone else been through this, especially as I was
given the all clear behind the breast and the lymph nodes. I know I need to
think positive but its tough going at the moment as I also started bleeding
and getting a discharge from the left nipple.

Any help would be great

Love and best wishes to all
Keep strong

Hi I am sorry to hear your having problems with your recon, unfortunately I dont have any answers that might help you but if I were you I would contact your breast care team and speak to either a nurse or doctor. I think you should certainly get the nipple area checked out, as it may be nothing but at least you will have peace of mind.

One thing I have learnt over the last year or so is to get answers to any concerns or questions I have sooner rather than later, it is a very anxious time for all of us that have gone through this and I think its better to take action and find things out rather than sit there worrying about it.

I hope it all works out for you.

Take care
